Also consider you may have enormous prop wash as wide as those arms are..Alot of the thrust you may have is being taken away having to hit so much surface of those arms...It may actually be pushing down on the quad more than its trying to lift...I could be wrong but, i dont usually see arms as...

Im going with not enough thrust for the weight as well...An 8.5mm brushed motor with GWS 5443 sized props can give over 60g of thrust...lol...Im not sure you could lighten that quad enough to lift it and provide enough power to actually fly it with any sort of authority.

I might add some range issues have plagued the syma X5 series to give about 30m before "brown outs" or loosing signal. Many have found you can upgrade the transmitter for about triple the range and its not very expensive at all to do. A simple Rp Sma to UFL pig tail, soldered where the factory...

Heres a run down on the Syma X5..The original was nice but no camera... Then came the X5C with the C denoting Camera....but Syma didnt make changes to the flight board to compensate for the added weight of the camera so, it flies a bit heavy'ish and not as stable with the camera mounted... Now...

The best radio and receiver would be a subjective opinion..There is alot of manufacturers who make radios to meet ones need. Two of the best are probably Futaba and Spektrum. I suppose knowing what your budget will be will determine what you may need to settle for in a quad and radio set up...

There are many ways to start...You have many different size option with 240mm about as big as it gets for the lesser cost entry level "toy"quads. You have camera/video options or no camera/ video option..you have basically an entire host of quads to choose from..Not all are equal but,many are...

Walkera uses the same modules but those arent low cost models...lol The more common modules used for the lower cost quads are the A1075 or NRF24L01 ..alot of different protocols though between them

Yea...blade uses a CYRF6936 module for DSM2/DSMX..so id have to say no on binding to them with the module that binds to your blades. If its an open source TX i dont see why you couldnt program it to.
