Indoor nano quadcopter recommendation wanted

Thanks in advance to anyone nice enough to help a newbie out.

Been wanting a little quadcopter for indoor flying for a while, I got the Parrot Rolling spider but this has proved to be a bit too powerful for indoors so I sold that.

Now I'm looking at nano copters and there just seems to be a million different types and variations. So I thought it might be worth asking some experts.

I'm looking for a good quality make, which can take a few crashes, fly's stable and maybe can do a flip. For under £40 or around that figure.

I'm guessing some brands are better quality than others so this is why I don't want to get several quads before finding the right one! Any help or advice on which nano quads might suit me is greatly appreciated.

Syma makes a really small one called the Syma x12. It is a really nice model as far as nano quads go, and may be perfect for indoor flight.

Eachine makes a nice one also, but it may be a little too powerful for indoor flight.

The nano is really good but its a bit fast for indoors once you master flying it not bad but too fast for a new flyer

I'm for the Blade also but it is a bit fast, though I've not seen one that wasn't fast on high settings for indoors. I've flown my wifes Syma XC5-1 indoors on slow settings, but I don't recommend the Syma quality... Someone suggested the Blade 180 which probably would be a good choice though expensive. I can't understand paying $100 +- for anything with brushed motors- though the 180 may have brushless motors...

Syma is actually one of the better quality "Toy" quad makers...Ive owned some big name hobby grades before and i wasnt impressed compared to some of the lower cost "toy" models to be honest.

Most models come with selective rates that can tame them indoors or liven them up outdoors...Some are a bit aggressive and some not so much, even in high rates.

These seem to be the top 2 smaller models that have made names for themselves among many toy quad enthusiasts.

1.) BAYANG X9...this is a clone of the BLADE nQX that has taken top honors as the low cost alternative...They use small 6mm motors and are super light (19.5g)...Tame on low rates and capable of aggressive flying outdoors on higher rates...Repairs are very inexpensive for this model.

JJRC1000A...A very good performer that has a 40% percent low rate selection, making it very controllable indoors and, can be extremely aggressive on higher rates outdoors or in

These two would be my personal recommendation and, both in the $20 to $30.00 range ready to fly...more if purchased state side but, none the less very popular models.

Id have to research more on the protocol for those..im not sure really.

I know the Bayang binds to some eachine models like the H8 mini and, the jjrc uses the WL TOYS 2x2 (flysky) protocol.

Im not familiar really with the Taranis TX...if they use replaceable modules i dont see why you couldnt change it to bind with them.

Yea...blade uses a CYRF6936 module for DSM2/DSMX..so id have to say no on binding to them with the module that binds to your blades.

If its an open source TX i dont see why you couldnt program it to.

Cool. I am using the orange box rx to bind to my blade. Was hoping I could pick up a cheaper one to use it to bind to also.

Walkera uses the same modules but those arent low cost models...lol

The more common modules used for the lower cost quads are the A1075 or NRF24L01 ..alot of different protocols though between them
