Some ideas on a project - lifting a heavy body - no need to be very nimble

There are a few 7.4v toy quads with large brushed motors on them..They seem to be quite powerful but an issue with these brushed motors is heat from extreme loads. Some are well over 100g in weight and lift fpv systems but, motors dont tend to last very long. You didnt mention what material...

    Syma X5C flight modes

Mode 1 and 2 is essentially what control sticks function on what side of the radio...Mode 1 would generally have the throttle stick on the right side and mode 2 on the left...Something about it being reversed with the syma..so if the throttle is on the left this should be mode 2 but its in mode...

For Hubsan H107L fans in the USA.

I just found that the Banggood USA warehouse is offering the HUBSAN H107L RTF for a super super low price of $19.99 shipped via DHL express. Ive purchased a Bayang x9 RTF and a JJRC 1000A BNF as well as a Tarantula X6 TX to use with the jjrc this past week and, this was too good to pass...

need some advice for a newbie

The market is full of clones and clones of clones of clones..lol. I think its more a matter of what models use the same protocol rather than by who it was made by...Protocol is how a TX and RX communicate to each other...There are quite a few different protocols being used and change often even...

need some advice for a newbie

The 2 i recommended could be considered in the top 5 of the toy quads. The bayang x9 is a little rocket of a quad..has very good stability and super light..Great for practicing indoors from your couch...despite a small 150mah battery, run times are about 7 to 8 minutes with it..it only weighs...

need some advice for a newbie

Dont limit yourself to just a hubsan model...you would be very surprised at how many reliable great flyers there are out there. The toy quads are just flat out fun..Heres a couple recommendations to you. Bayang Toys X9 ( the best Blade nQX clone)..I just ordered one for less than $22.00...

    Old school "toy" hybrid build.

Ok so here is some weight loss measurements. As advertised, the PicnicQuads motor holders are indeed .2g each...The entire stock UDI motor holder assembly weighed in at .6g, for a total of .4g heavier which is a total 1.6g more weight for the stock holders...Thats a considerable amount of...

    Syma X5C-1 mods

The mod is done to the transmitter, not on the control board of the quad itself...The control board on the quad should have a 31mm antenna which is known as 1/4 range...I dont think you have to mess with that.

    Old school "toy" hybrid build.

I like that...id like to do something brushless, eventually...May not be that small though..lol The BayangToys X9 ( the best blade nqx clone made so far) i was told weighs under 20g with the stock 150mah battery...Thats quite a nice little quad for the low $20.00 (US) range as an RTF...thats...

    Syma X5C-1 mods

You may want to look into the range mod using a +/- 5db antenna with an RP-SMA cable..150M+ range!!!! Not that one could visually see the mod at that range but, losing range would never be an issue. (In sight) ...lol

Reversing controls on an X5C and hovering questions

When you see those expensive quads sitting in one spot motionless they arent really doing this with the stick and have what is called GPS hold or something like that. Any quad without this is pretty much going to require playing with the throttle to keep it hovering as steady as possible. You...

    Syma X5C-1 mods

Im not sure you will have much for gearing options to choose from....The only other "different" gearing came with the WL Toys geared quads and they do not fit the SYMA X5 models.. Most just tend to use a more powerful motor but at the expense of flight time or a slightly larger battery with a...

need some advice for a newbie

Im jealous...lol....If you find it difficult to fly and still want to learn, its very cheap to get something to practice with..Im buying quadcopters in the 20 to 30 dollar range and having a blast with those..It can teach you the basics with sick movement and you hand eye coordination then make...

    Old school "toy" hybrid build.

Hey, 1 gram is alot on these little quads lol. I want as little of throttle as possible to maintain hover and manage a decent cruising speed for motor life and efficiency...Id like to see 8 minutes or more of flight time while others might get 5 or 6. The lighter it is the less amps the motors...

need some advice for a newbie

The hubsan is a fine quad...so good in fact ,alot of companies made clones of it...I think you will like it..Im more into building my own quads with different parts and pieces and the hubsan x4 flight control board is something i will be using in a build at some point. Let us know how you like...

    Old school "toy" hybrid build.

So, i found my precision scale and, did some weighing of the stock components...The frame weighs in at a poultry 1.1g...One of the reasons i chose this frame from the start as it was the lightest offering at the time. The new Picnic motor holders are said to weight .20g complete for each...

The cx20 i believe is a much larger quad..It does share more of the hobby grade style components than a hubsan x4 does. It boils down to your budget and budget for repairs when needed...The hubsan is a great little flier..many use the flight control board to make customs with and parts...
