I've used 720mah in the X5C but now that I think of it, the 850's were in an SC which has a slightly different shell. I haven't tried them in an X5C.

I've used batteries up to 85o mah in the X5's and was still gaining flight time. Some guys are saying they're using 1000 and 12000 mah, but I haven't tried these to say at what point the extra weight will stop giving you more flight time.

Yes. You're overthinking this a bit. Enabling "multiple flight modes" allows you to use the Position, Sport, and Atti modes and intelligent flight modes. It doesn't have any effect if you aren't using one of the IFM's, and flying it in Position mode will still be Position mode with no IFM's...

Search on Amazon for "Syma X5HC battery" and see if those aren't the same connector. I think they are. You can find them in sizes from 500mah to 1200mah (which they advertise for the X5HC, but wonder if it will fit yours. It not the 680mah ones should)

The only downside to that module is the onboard antenna, which has really bad range. If you soldered onto the antenna on the board, it would be the hot setup.

What Ren said. The IFM's remain ENABLED, so you can access them through the icon on the main flight screen. An intelligent flight mode doesn't stay ACTIVE once you land. in fact, you have to deactivate it in order to land.

The props in the photo you posted should be 1mm. The tri props won't provide much help. I've found the general rule to be use props with the fewest blades that give you good performance. Add blades only to cure a specific performance problem. 2 vs. 3 vs. 4 blades = shorter battery life as you go...

You can get a decent very portable balance charger quite cheap if you shop around and read reviews. I always balance charge my multi-cell LiPo's, because...why not?

I have noticed that my LOS flying skills are suffering since I have been flying mostly FPV lately. I flew a few batteries on one of my non-FPV quads to try to get back in tune.... o_O

I use Eachine VR D2 Pro goggles and insert a cheap pair of reading glasses inside the goggles. They stay in place and work fine. You can pick up several pairs cheap on Ebay and try them until you get a pair that is the right magnification. I got the idea from a video on YouTube.

One you enable intelligent flight modes, they stay enabled unless you back in and disable them. Otherwise, you have that correct.
