You should do well with a P3S at that price. They're good quads. People whine about the range being less on the standard than on an Advanced or Pro, or any of the P4 models, but for $400 you can't go wrong IMO.

Best way is to buy stock DJI props and dye them with RIT brand fabric dye. Search on YouTube and you can find videos. Also, remember that the DJI factory props aren't always balanced perfectly. A prop balancer is good investment. I'd recommend the DuBro one.

At this point, I would video with your phone while you go through the turning on and trying to bind process, then contact Gearbest for a replacement. It sounds like an issue with the flight control board.

I"m assuming a WIndows environment. One option to try out is VSDC Free Video Editor. It's not at all user-friendly, but there are a ton of YouTube videos for doing just about anything in it, and it's a very capable video editing software. There is a registered version that is quite affordable...

Yours is moving in 3 axes. You just can't control its movement manually in the yaw axis.

You can't. You need to yaw the quad to film that shot. And think about it: if you COULD do it, you would be looking at the quad's landing gear a lot in your video.

If you were filming with that in place, it would explain what you were experiencing. That thing interferes with the gimbal's "yaw" movement and the gimbal motor has to overcome the resistance. Definitely don't fly with it on, because you can damage the gimbal motor.

Mike, based on this description there is some kind of issue with the gimbal. Are you on Facebook? If so, I'd suggest you join the DJI PHantom 4 Owners Support group and post this (and video, if possible) in there.

Did you get the C5820 or C5830 camera? The 5820 fits stock, the 5830 is really designed for the Bugs 2 & 6 (I think it is) and requires you to cut out the nose end of the Bugs 3 to mount it. I think you will love the Bugs 3. It's an outstanding flyer. I have put an SJCam SJ5000x camera on it...

I haven't used Tomtop, but they do have a lot of negative reviews. I've had great luck with Banggood after many orders.

Same here. There's no downside to doing it more often, but as long as you're doing a check pre-flight and it looks good, no real reason to re-calibrate.
