Sounds like a problem with power, are you using the right power source? Check the specs for voltage, and amp( or milliamps) required.

Did you have a camera on the gimbal when you started it?

That can cause a problem where it over heats. Try different channels, just put one on channel 1, then cycle the second device through all channels, and then move device one to channel 2 and repeat. It could be the wrong band.

Can you provide a part list, and maybe also try powering just the FPV system?

A few ideas, first it could be as simple as RFI, try it without props on the motors, and with just the radio, on and the board in safe mode.

It is almost always a dirty tip. I have done a lot of soldering, and have found that a bit of brass sponge works perfect, I have also used steel wool just fine. I like using nickel tips, but copper tips work just as good if you want to keep cleaning and replacing them. For lower heat...

Haha, lol. I was tagging the user named "Drone Newbie", he is building something similar, and I think this would be a\n exceptable way to go at around 1/10th the cost of what he might be doing, that leaves a lot in the budget to upgrade.

I would just buy some 30 amp ESCs, that way you could upgrade to better motors sometime later. With your current setup 12amp are just sufficient. You should have enough thrust, and mutistar batteries are really light, definatly go with them as you don't need a very high C rate. Try this...

With a budget like that you should be fine to use PixHawk, it is more geared towards autonomous flight, which is what you would need. The MutiWii and PixiHawk are both equally customization, but that is simply because it is olso open source.

That should all be doable, and won't be too pricey. What type of budget do you have? Check these flight controllers out, I am thinking either NAZA or mutiwii

Find a 32ch transmitter and it will work with about any 5.8ghz rx.
