    First Build (Help)

Welcome to the forum, Shuff! A few questions. Do you have a budget range? Do you have any experience flying quads? Why did you choose aluminum? Are you flexible on the dimensions?

    Motor size vrs. prop size

I just went and measured a 2216 motor I have loose and sho 'nuff it's 22mm in dia. and the magnet is 16mm. I still need to research the torque, horsepower measurement. I am also curious how wattage relates. Nuts. I thought I had this down. Google here I come!! Haha!

    Motor size vrs. prop size

Huh. I was under the impression that the first number, 2213, was the size of the motor. In this case; 22mm in diameter with a magnet 13mm high. I was also under the impression that a formula involving amp draw and KV was how to determine torque ( efficiency measured as lbs/hp ) for A/C motors...

need some advice for a newbie

Hey! We're guys! We don't need no stinkin' directions..... Hahaha!! Stuff happens. Just reset and follow the directions in the manual. You only need to calibrate the compass once then you're good to go. Make sure you're battery is charged and the quad is level when you bind.

    450 frame build - advice

If you are looking for calm flights with long flight times, for video for example, and the ability to lift efficiently then you'll want a 3s battery. Use larger diameter, lower pitch props like 11 x 4.0 or 12 x 3.0. You will get lots of lift and smooth flights with long flight times. If you want...

    First crashproof drone

I have to agree that the FAA is carrying things too far. Even though they are under a lot of pressure to do something about the horrible "plague" of dangerous drones out there. Thank you media sensationalism, and thank you to the handful of OUR idiots who flew their multi's where they shouldn't...

    syma x5c problem

I'm gonna go with DJI dude and Jimbir on this one. I double checked the manual and it very clearly instructs you to turn the Tx on first then turn on the quad. Push the throttle full up and then full down. There should be one clear sound from the Tx. Actually. Tx first then plug in the battery...

need some advice for a newbie

The Nova/CX20 is the easiest to fly quad I own. Once you get the GPS locked in and set the altitude hold it's almost boring it's so easy. That said, you still have to learn to fly it no mater what the orientation of the quad is. Crashes are going to happen. I don't know where you live, froggy8...

need some advice for a newbie

I have a Quannum NOVA ( CX20 ) but have never used mission planner. I assume you calibrated the compass? I know it can take mine from 1 to 5 minutes to get GPS lock depending on where I am and if tall buildings are nearby. I bought this because it was on sale and I wanted a larger RTF to fly...

Glad you were able to identify the problem. It does indeed look cool . A lot of the custom work on my bike is just because it looks cool. Sounds like a great reason to me.:)

Some ideas on a project - lifting a heavy body - no need to be very nimble

Hey Mike H. I'm surprised you didn't get into your "toy hybrid" build. Something like that could be just what flyingfishcake needs to look into.

    450 frame build - advice

Although I have no hands on experience with any of those, I have seen posts online describing erratic quality control for FlySky. The Devo and Turnigy radios each have their following and overall seem to be pretty good. I think they both are compatible with Lemon Rx's. Others on the forum should...

    450 frame build - advice

The price makes sense because I believe their home base is Australia. ringalong is dead on! I remember that post and thinking how glad I am I don't have to deal with that crap anymore. When you read a review on Youtube that recommends buying a couple extra motors and ESC's so you won't have to...

P2V+ retractable landing gear mod my mod

Ya know. Once you work the bugs out that's gonna be seriously cool! Any idea what the glitch is? Emf? Sensors not matched? One higher than the other? Gotta admit when you came down the first time and the gear went back up a foot off the ground I thought that was all she wrote. Good piloting!

    450 frame build - advice

Here is a link to the MiniX. It would be ideal for your build; http://www.cnchelicopter.com/xaicraft-minix-package-a-minix-flight-controller-gps-plus-osd/ You should be able to find a distributor there. I think it's there home base......maybe.....possibly.
