    Motor size vrs. prop size

Haha! The train analogy was one used as the discussion started to head into really technical stuff. That's about when my eyes glazed over.......... What I came away with is that for our purposes in trying to put together the right motor and prop combinations, using the KV as a signifier of...

    Motor size vrs. prop size

Hope this helps. The Kv is simply the RPM the motor will spin (unloaded), given one (1) Volt. Meaning, if the motor is a 1000Kv motor, then if a voltage of 10V is applied, the motor will spin 1000 RPM/V x 10V = 10,000 RPM. The efficiency is the propeller blade, motor, and ESC all in...

    Build from scratch octacopter

I admit that I did not look up the ones he referenced. In the past SunnySky used the A prefix to identify Angel motors. Any idea what these motors are? 8 motors of any kind will give decent performance on something that light. GJH105775 is correct in saying that cheap parts will jump up...

    best way to calibrate

Ohhhh.... That is beyond my skill set. If you don't get any replies from members, try going on the HobbyKing help site. Tell them you bought a HK Quannum Nova ( rebranded CX20) from someone on ebay. Tell them what you did and see if they can help.

    First Build (Help)

You are right. The KK will not work with the 35MHz signal. Good choice on the Spektrum. BTW, there are hundreds of videos out about building quads from wood. Popular building material.

    First Build (Help)

Cool. My first thought is to recommend you get a cheap RTF quad to learn on like the Syma X5C1 for example. It can be had for around $50.00 and will save you money in the long run. Replacing parts on a toy quad is really cheap compared to your larger build. You WILL crash in the beginning. A...

    Build from scratch octacopter

Welcome to the forum Joe! That's a great idea for a multi! The ability to make it any size you want is a big plus. The A2212's used in the video are SunnySky Angel series. A motor built to a price point rather than built for quality. One failed him early on. You get what you pay for. Don't...

    450 frame build - advice

Yeah. Shipping can be the most frustrating part of this hobby. I feel very fortunate living here because I can get everything I need in just a few days now that I don't order from China anymore. As far as info on various motors and esc's try googling " multirotor motor comparison" and "...
