How much are you drawing, and how much capacitance does the battery have? It may be fine if it does not get hot or anything.

Do your ESCs have BECs? You may have lost something on the BEC's 5v so no receiver or FCB power. Does the BEC switch on with a relay? If so is it a latching or non-latching relay?

What ESCs are they using? This should be no problem to fix, what part stopped working? I doubt they would modify the ESCs nless they made them themselves. Otherwise this is probably just a PDB, filter and maybe BEC. Can you tell if those capacitors are aluminum electrolytic, or OSCON...

Looking great man. Surprised you'd be at MTOW on a hex. If you wished it would be possible to replace two of the adjacent motors with something that had some "umph". Or you might be able to go to 4S if your equipment (ESCs and motors) support it.

Depends, what mode are you in? You might be able to trim using receiver sliders on the program you tune your FCB with. Otherwise hover it off the ground and trim it close enough.

So you have good ESCs, and a good flight controller? What is the lower circuit board you are talking about? Is it a stepdown acting as a BEC? Might add some pictures to help.

As for bypassing the board, you need a FCB to fly because you won't get 10'' of f the ground if you are not using the stabilization (different from autolevel)

Well comparing that thing in the video to our quads is like comparing model helis or toy helis to the AH-64 Apache. On a full scale setup the helis have a lot of safety and durability benefits that quadcopter designs just don' have.

Too tall is not a problem that I am aware of, just make sure your motors support the props and weight you are going to be asking of them.
