Well did you fly today post videos here

    20mph? I do like a good challenge ;)

    CMOS OR CCD?

Yeah hahaha, the pit is bottomless. More like a black hole, sucks more and more money in and you will never break free once you reach the event horizon (addiction).

First quadcopter (With a Raspberry Pi)

Also I don't know about the local laws for Switzerland, but I believe that you should be fine under a certain weight (it was like 30 kg or 50 kg I don't remember for sure) and as long as you are not flying over people, but you might want to check into your local laws before buying the RF...

    CMOS OR CCD?

Hahaha, that is pretty cool. Of all of the videos to choose from :p I think that you are better off with a 2 camera system or perhaps this setup which does a great job on minimizing latency.

First quadcopter (With a Raspberry Pi)

Not what I meant hahaha. 2 batteries that you can land and change off as you are not carrying all of that weight around which makes you less maneuverable and shortens your flight time.

Unique requirement for off shelf / self-build / no price limit quad recommendation

I'd go with the Phantom 4 just because of the obstacle avoidance. As you stated you have limited flying experience and need to repeat the path as closely as possible. The Phantom 4 will excel at this compared to many other models.

Well did you fly today post videos here

Nice way to rattle your bones all the while peaceful music and video are playing hahahaha

First quadcopter (With a Raspberry Pi)

You can test it, if the latency is a little too high you could then move to an Arduino. You're going to be adding more weight, so in general 2 smaller batteries (to switch-out in the field) is better than one bigger battery. So if you get the 4000mAh you can make up for the lost flight...

Yeah, that makes it easier, but if you lose one you also have problems replacing them quick hahaha

Nothing accept they are a pain to deal with. Most people suiggest you get CCw motor adapters (Right hand threads) and use nuts with nylon inserts.

    FINDING MY FLOW! - Eachine Racer 250 FPV - #FPVRacing #DroneRacing #NorCalFPV #UkiahFPV

It is amazing how fast this stuff is getting cheaper. In just two years I've seen the minimum build cost go from 240$USD to less than 150$USD hahaha That is a pretty big improvement. The last flight was a lot smoother and as you mention had an almost natural flow to it.

    Help with APM Planner v2.0.20

Well I'm still only in DEP, with a contract for 1C6x1 so I have not went through BMT yet (my job does not ship until August hahaha). Sometime during BMT (tech school at the latest) I should find out what area, but I am strongly hoping for space lift at Patrick AFB in Cape Canaveral, FL. I...

Multistar makes good motors. Their windings in my multistar elites are cleaner and neater than many quantum MY motors I've seen that go at 25$ a piece. If memory serves me right @Nick bought that exact combo so he might be able to give some more specific details/experience on them.

Here is a little video that should show the differences.

    CMOS OR CCD?

Has to do with the type of sensor that is used, theoretically a CCD will be less affected by camera jello which is a problem on quads and can be mitigated via camera bubbles. CMOS rolling shutter, so it updates the frames in a linear pattern during the exposure time CCD global shutter, so the...

    ready for first build

Hahaha, if you're not using a gimbal you should be fine then. My motors lifted a 3 pound tank with a 5200mAh battery without the gimbal. As for having two cameras the main reason is that the cameras that record on the quadcopter (better quality video) have a lot of latency (AKA lag, or...

    software settings

Yes, but it probably has to do with the craft not being perfectly level. They may be trying to compensate for that and for this they would be faster.

documentary about drones and rules, Comments?

I'm seeing this as good coverage, and agree with most of what is said. They spoke with people who actually knew what they were speaking about, even if the narrator might not have. Though I am certain their estimate is off for 2018 as we currently have WAY more. The fishing line loophole...
