    New racer build ideas

I usually prefer to DIY my frames because of the repairability and customizability. No waiting on parts to arrive hahaha. I can make 4 new arms with a little stick of wood (I have a 5 gallon bucket full of arms basically all I have to do is cut an angle on the end and drillholes) Frame is...

    Question about CW & CCW

Left hand threads go where CW motors go and right hand threads go where the CCW motors go. To verify loosen up your nut and hold it in place, then rotate the motor the direction it will be turning when you use the quadcopter, if it tightens down then you are placing it correctly.

    New racer build ideas

Make sure to get plenty of power for the red bottoms while considering a battery, and choose ESCs that will do 4S. I'm warming up a 45C battery flying 0630 props, 2205-2300kv motors on 3S. I've seen many great reviews of Borris'FW for accro and racing. I think that's be a great choice...

Looking for drone with 30+ minutes of flight time

Hmmm, or store uncompressed fuel balloon style Lighter than air fuel source ;)

documentary about drones and rules, Comments?

Well yeah the media does not understand it enough to talk about it. Or rather that is what I'm seeing when people speak to me about these new rules and guidelines. I believe that the FAA overstepped their power by regulating hobby aircraft like this in what would seem to be a clear...

new toy, need experiment suggestions (sensitive chemistry scale)

Well I have access to CO2 for welding so I could make the soil and air rich in that before sealing, though I don't think this is sensitive enough o measure sunlight's contribution in photosymphisis. I believe that the sunlight is only used for converting the food into energy so you would have...

Trouble with Arduino + Leap motion - controlled quad

I normally just use a python IDE, never had to do exactly what you are doing

Trouble with Arduino + Leap motion - controlled quad

For some reason the High worked a lot better for me (smoother) when I was reading RC input from my hobby Rx

Trouble with Arduino + Leap motion - controlled quad

That is probably already set fine as it is standard, but IDK about the averaging.

Trouble with Arduino + Leap motion - controlled quad

Well as I assume your serial connection is simplex (only one sends and the other receives). Then it should mean that if you read the Java's output while the controller is running, and it looks fine as you move the sliders (use another java client, simple python client, or whatever you need to...

Trouble with Arduino + Leap motion - controlled quad

You may try to set it all up and open your serial monitor(s), move the control around and see what it shows. Does it mess up there, or is it just when the KK2.1.5 is receiving? What I was trying to figure out is where the problem begins.

Well did you fly today post videos here

Yes but most of the trees I deal with are ninja trees and they jump in front of you and swat you to the ground out of nowhere hahahaha.

    New racer build ideas

Breakaway is a good idea. Also you might try and get a CF kit. They would certainly be stronger as long as you are not crashing really hard they would last longer. Are you flying over grass or hard ground?

Trouble with Arduino + Leap motion - controlled quad

    #include <string.h> #include <Servo.h> Servo throttle; Servo ail; Servo elev; Servo rud; void setup() { Serial.begin(9600); throttle.attach(5); ail.attach(10); elev.attach(9); rud.attach(6); throttle.write(0); rud.write(1187); Serial.println("ARMED"); } void loop() { int data[4]...

Trouble with Arduino + Leap motion - controlled quad

I assume the Java application is establishing a serial connection with the Arduino? Sometimes this jumping happens with PWM on Arduinos if you don't smooth it out. "throttle.write(0);" Are you using this to wait before sending the KK info?

    New racer build ideas

Well the tubular arms will be harder to break, but that just moves the point of failure to the frame which would be a lot harder to replace. As for those other frames I believe that the arms won't be much harder to break, but would be easy to replace if you did break them. You might just...

Well did you fly today post videos here

Hahaha, sounds like you need to either buy a bunch or make some cheaper training arms from something like wood. Are you trying to learn via FPV or LOS?

Trouble with Arduino + Leap motion - controlled quad

WHat do you see in the serial monitor? Are you seeing the PWM values jump around? Also if you go into the receiver test on the KK what are you seeing? Have you calibrated the throttle range?
