First quadcopter (With a Raspberry Pi)

The raspberry Pi is just a single boards computer. The flight controller would need PWM in, while the Pi could only do a serial connection, the arduino could mix the input from the Pi and the receiver then send that data as control info the the flight controller. Or if you could get a flight...

    ready for first build

I have some 1240kv Turnigy Aerodrive motors. Too light duty for a camera and gimbal, but too heavy for racing hahaha. If you are going for a camera build be sure to get motors powerful enough otherwise is will plague your build with MTOW problems later on. Whether that be the same KV but...

First quadcopter (With a Raspberry Pi)

If you're going to get the Q-brain I suggest the 25 amp, you could go with bigger props though I might suggest another motor as the NTM series has been a little famous for bearing problems and other small failures. As for running the flight controller directly off a Pi; it won't work. You...

new toy, need experiment suggestions (sensitive chemistry scale)

Hahaha, until recently I did not even have a scale to do grams, I got one for veggies that does grams and pounds (I of course use it only for quads). It is accurate to about 2 grams I think :P You might want to make sure the quad is fastened down really well hahaha. If it yaws and...

new toy, need experiment suggestions (sensitive chemistry scale)

Well I have realized a big problem with the experiment. Due to conservation of mass whatever weight is gained is going to be gained from chemical reactions that turn the dirt, CO2 and water into plant. This measures mass so it will be unchanged! hahaha. I don't see how I missed that...

    Any suggestions for 500 build

What about an H frame? Loads of storage and good strong design. Might also take a look at some of the builds on longrangerc.com.

new toy, need experiment suggestions (sensitive chemistry scale)

That is what a cover would be for, to seal the environment for a day.

For 10-12'' props I suggest something in the ballpark of 800kv to 980kv motors, and the higher the wattage/amperage you can afford the better. Depending on the motors 20amp-40amp ESCs. What camera are you planning on lifting?

    1800mah nano 60-120c burst overkill?

Hahaha, amazing how much this hobby can teach you in a couple months.

    1800mah nano 60-120c burst overkill?

Well, some companies 'inflate' their C ratings just by having lower standards. If they decide that the battery can be safely used with a 25% voltage drop then so be it. But that does not mean higher C ratings don't exist. Many good companies have higher than advertised capacity and...

    1800mah nano 60-120c burst overkill?

No it is not really too high (2300 kv motors don't go on a slow camera quad so I assume you are going to be doing faster harder flight). I had a problem with 40C- 80C, 1400mAh batteries sagging on a punchout when they were a bit low, and causing my voltage to drop (which could cause loss of...

    ESC calibration on kk2

Also note that if you do it and they won't spin up just do it again.

Sanity Check on Aisle 5, Please!

You just need enough room that they don't touch to be honest hahahaha. If you need them to be short enough not to touch then make a prop cutting jig. You might have to balance afterwards, but on minis you can cut an inch or more off and not even balance.

new toy, need experiment suggestions (sensitive chemistry scale)

That is pretty cool idea too, so you would be figuring out how much carbon dioxide was in the coke. That is getting added hahaha.

Extra power for stabilization and maneuvering.

new toy, need experiment suggestions (sensitive chemistry scale)

Hahaha, I went through the calibration procedure, and the ingenious way it was designed makes it harder to get it adjusted to where it was off if you get the weight in range to zero it in before use if you are following the use procedures too. It uses light and mirrors along with weights and...

9'' 3 blade props then? hahaha

    Simonk 12 amp ESC

Ok, then it is likely that your BEC is broke, and that you don't need the bottom plate if you had a BEC, and can power the ESCs. But a replacement would be easier.

    3D Printed DJI Inspire replica

It might not have much overhead, but it should get off the ground.
