Can a $20 camera take good video?

A great video I just watched on the subject.

    Breaking 'er In

I picked up a Realacc UXII Stubby to replace the stock dipole and took the new (3rd) BabyhawkR. After I worked out a number of bugs that surfaced between the stubby and the ROTG02 I tinkered with my rate profiles to be able to do freestyle maneuvers. These rates I got from one of...

    Whooping It Up

A while back I bought a Beta85 frame to use with my existing 8.5mm motors and a 90X FC from one of my extras to enjoy a bit of the whoop excitement. I flew it that way until I killed the FC, so I invested in an actual FC designed for the frame. And I took it out for a lunchtime run the...

    Enter the MacGyver

*rereads what he wrote...nope nothing about a game changing idea that has NEVER been thought of before* It is though a creation of mine own hands and a game changer for me and cost me nada using skills I've picked up from wholely unrelated interests..

    Enter the MacGyver

After having my tx drop off the stock lanyard provided with my Taranis a few too many times I decided a change needed to happen. Enter the MacGyver I used a buckle system from my Chrome bike messenger bag, para-cord and mini para-cord carabiners to upgrade the lanyard.

Poll: Do you fly alone or with others?

Nothing to be competitive against other than against the quality of my last flight.

    In the Saddle Again

I bought a total of 4 90X models ($55 each) and I have yet to break a frame despite hitting many trees and the ground. I picked up the current frame I have because I didn't like the compact nature of the 90X which made it impossible to upgrade the camera or easily change the angle of the...

    In the Saddle Again

Sad thing is that if I break that frame I am SOL on a new one SPC Maker seems to have discontinued it, I think I bought the last one in existence.

    In the Saddle Again

I killed another BabyhawkR and the only recourse from Amazon on a replacement part was to offer a refund and buy a new BHR, so I'm down for potentially two weeks for the new one.' I got the Whoop out and was flying it and after the first round one of the motors stopped working and I found out...

Or maybe call ourselves quad drivers?

Poll: Do you fly alone or with others?

I fly alone because I fly around my yard, don't know any others locally who fly quads, don't have an AMA membership to fly at a quad friendly club field 40 mins away and don't have a good set-up to charge my 2/3S batteries away from home.

    Shooting Hoops Kwad Style

Took a trip to meet another quad driver at a semi-local park and by the time I got there it was packed with people, kids, and dogs, OH MY! I did manage to get one pack in before the others left and without a spotter, I headed home. It was a reminder of how good I have it here at home. I kicked...

    Humpty Dumpty's continuing adventures

I am fortunate to have no fences to worry about and when I go down, I just walk over, flip the quad over and resume flying (helps me get used to standing when flying FPV) so I tend to end up in the neighbor's yard. I got spooked at one point when I heard a huff and a wet and cold nose hit my leg...

    UAVFutures 99 Build-Bricked FC

Trial and error is how I learn since I do not have anyone local I know in the hobby.

    UAVFutures 99 Build-Bricked FC

Good thing to download is the ImpulseRC Driver Fixer. It eliminates the need to jump/short the FC to flash firmware and puts the FC into DFU mode.

    Humpty Dumpty's continuing adventures

Ahaha! I actually picked this up when I wanted to make a really difficult geocache where the container was connected magnetically to the retaining wall bolt 15 feet in the air and you needed to find the tool first to get to it. I had a few extras and found that it's great to get to a treed quad...

    Dead forum these days?

That is a whole lot.of work for something you can do with shrink wrap. I am going to redo that with some heavy duty stuff that came with my QX90 to hold the motors in place. It has a better shrink rating and glueon the inside as well.
