    Humpty Dumpty's continuing adventures

That would a perfect quad to have a golf ball retrieval tool for.

    Dead forum these days?

That is one sweet build! I have been checking out the details and that thing is VERY well thought out. I can see why the frame is as costly as it is but it is worth it! I've looked into that Massive Droner frame from that company for a future upgrade.

    Dead forum these days?

Round two. This time I am leaving things as is with the exception of the added guards. I am trying something new to deal with the cap issue, shrink wrap it to the battery leads for added rigidity.

    Dead forum these days?

Been building, repairing, rebuilding, flying, breaking, reordering and waiting....oh yea, and flying between!

    Broke it already

Or so I thought... Turned out that the crash dislodged the feet from the pads of the connector between the ESC and FC boards and since the stack had loosened up, it would drop power at around mid-throttle. Tightened it up and had to resolder a wire back on the RX that came off on the test run...

Well did you fly today post videos here

This has been a long and trying time for me in this hobby. After the issues from the earlier video (not to mention a whole crap ton of brushed issues), I was ready to pack it up, ship it back and sell everything else. BlueLineFPV was there to talk me off the ledge, got me to calm down and kick...

    Broke it already

IT'S ALIVE!!! My parts from 3Dcrypt.com came in yesterday so I was able to get the HawkR back together again. I had to repair the rx, a wire broke off mid-flight showing me that there was some lingering damage from the arm breaking crash earlier in the week. I also added some camera guards...

FLYING THROUGH THE NY HUDSON RIVER

Great video as always! I always look forward to your flights.

    Broke it already

While I am waiting on the replacements I took the time to throw together a FrankenWhoop. SP Maker 90x guts (1S) and (crappy) camera. 8.5mm motors Ridgeback from 3d printed FT Boar frame for protection and holding rx in place. Camera guard from Eachine QX-105 Bat. It’s ugly, but it flies!

    Broke it already

Yea, it's been a fun experience so far. I think I will go down to 2S for when I am around the house, though. 3S is faster than I am used to and makes it difficult to get around. Can leave 3S for when I get better or at a park and freestyle. Never understood the fascination of punch outs until I...

    You're going NO WHERE!

Necessity is the mother of invention aka MacGyverism… After clipping the ground on a crash I destroyed the cheap battery strap the HawkR came with. so I was working on making a new one from another strap I had but couldn’t find my heavy duty thread to finish the project. While I was hunting...

    Broke it already

Before IMG_20180828_212802.jpg2448x3264 1.94 MB I got this BHr on Sunday, got the 3S batteries on Tuesday and did some racing around the yard, ran into trees, branches, the ground, broke props, etc. Yesterday I decided to try my hand at LOS freestyle and was doing pretty good with punchout...

Possible to test camera and vTX without FPV goggles?

An Eachine ROTG 5.8GHz receiver can connect to your computer or to a phone or tablet if they are OTG compatible.

    N+1

Friday I made a leap in the hobby when I decided to get a brushless quad and bought an Emax BabyhawkR. I decided to put my collection together in order of progression into the hobby that started in February of this year. IMG_20180826_153143.jpg960x321 96.7 KB L-R: Sharper Image DX-2 (not...

    Look out for that....!

I agree. After that close call when I flew through the shelter I stayed out in the open and was the last flight I did. That was the second time I have flown outside my yard and not planning to do it again unless I go out to the sports park by my house that is empty while kids are in school.

    Look out for that....!

Just start making them and people will come. My flying is not prime time material but it's great for people new to the hobby to watch people progress instead of just pros who can do every trick in the book.

    Look Ma! No Hands!

With the adoption of a Babyhawk R I decided it was time to kick off those training wheels and get into full acro. This is the third battery I have flown in full acro and I was quite surprised how well I did. I also decided to start standing when I fly (thanks to Mr. STeele's video.) Chair? I...
