    Which tiny whoop?

The Q X7 is a great transmitter. The thing I like about the Jumper if you're into BNF quads (that would be me), you can sometimes find really good deals if you don't have to be choosy about the receiver protocol. If the Jumper supported the MJX Bugs series protocol (it doesn't), I would already...

IOS Update - Will It Mess Up My DJI Go App?

The Go 4 app will work fine on earlier versions of iOS. That's not to say you shouldn't update, but read and ask a ton of questions before you do. DJI will always update the app to be compatible with the latest version of iOS but it may not happen immediately, so don't be in a rush to update the...

    Which tiny whoop?

Be careful about your expectations with multi-protocol modules. They usually have their own onboard antenna which is not famous for good range. Read reviews so you know what you're getting. One alternative is the Jumper T8SG, which supports an amazing range of protocols including all the major...

    Which tiny whoop?

Yes, there are versons available in a variety of protocols. If you buy the BNF version, just be sure it's the FlySky compatible one. FlySky has an older protocol (AFHDS) and a newer one (AFHDS-2A), and the i6X is compatible with both.

    Which tiny whoop?

I'd think about the Tiny 7x. It's small enough to fly in the house, but should be punchy enough with the 8mm motors to do ok outside with a bit of breeze. Banggood has the BNF version for $64.99 (basic kit) and "advanced" kit for $94.99. They carry the Flysky FS i6x for $49.99.

    Spork's Journey

You will have a blast with the Tiny 6. Grab some LiHV batteries for it when you can. No one in your house will be safe. I love my little one for just grabbing it and flying in the house on a rainy (or busy) day. For your outside flying needs, there are a ton of good options not for brushless...

Dunno how I typed "brushless" instead of "brushed" there! o_O

    Newbie and noob

That's the way you learn. While you're flying you're flying the cheap ones, break them and go to YouTube to learn how to fix them. Scrounge around online for the best deals on parts when you need to repair one. Learn to look for replacement parts first when deciding what to buy. All of these...

re: a problem with a Sharper Image dx-5 drone

You may still find you have fun with the brushless "toy" quads even after you own more sophisticated ones. I know I do.... I still bash around my Symas in the front yard and have a blast sometimes. And they're a lot easier and cheaper to fix than some of my other quads, too. :D

re: a problem with a Sharper Image dx-5 drone

Replacing brushless motors is a fact of life, and not very difficult. They have a short lifespan, usually a few hours of actual flying time. There are a few very common sizes, they're cheap and usually readily available.

    My Large Stable of Quads:

There are a lot of quads Hubsan calls an "X4". The one you have (the H501S) doesn't need a windless day to fly just fine. At a guess, 10mph or less should be no problem. In time you will find how much wind it takes to get bothersome. That said, when you're learning you should avoid very much wind.

What to get for grandkids ages 8 & 10?

I also recommend Banggood, having ordered WAY too much from them with great results. I haven't ordered from Gearbest, but would if I couldn't get what I wanted from Banggood. Pay with PayPal, and you can feel very confident you are protected in case of any issues. Bangood mis-shipped one...
