First Build, Scared motor is damaged...

Ok, you'll know in a few weeks or so. The short happened outside the motor, so it should not have affected it. If the wires were stiff then you should not have to worry, because what I am talking about only happens to aluminium wires when they get really hot. They become brittle enough to...

First Build, Scared motor is damaged...

Probably just the smell from when it burnt. It should be fine, just check the cables for damage, and make sure you repair it if so. Be sure to check back in a week or so to see if the cable is hard. Your ESC may be repairable. Cut the heatshrink (if any) off of it, and attach a few...

    Help with Quad build

Yeah, my experiences have been "great". The shipping took forever though. 10-25 buisness days were estimated, took over 30

    Low voltage buzzer connections

There are two pins on the KK2.1.5 board, they are under a red header by the buzzer. It says power, and is marked + & -

    Upgrade and mod a hubsan x4 h107d

Yeah, the higher gain antennas are better than getting a higher MW output. I really hope you don{t crash in a wooded area if you go with camo colours xD.

    Low voltage buzzer connections

You could do that if the buzzer was made to do that, or you could pull main power from the battery and plug it into the KK{s voltage alarm. The KK{s voltage alarm is really accurate, and adjustable.

    Low voltage buzzer connections

Are you referring to putting a low voltage alarm on your ground station? If so then can you provide a link to what voltage sensor you are using?

Hello, all - new guy here with a question (that never happens, huh?)

Usually they these things automatically switch over, though this is not always the case. I like to test with an AVI feed as apposed to a camera, like one that comes from a DVD player. Is your transmitter compatible with the receiver, becasue not only od they have to be the same frequency...

First Build: Cant get the FCB to power up

The problem is that you don't have a BEC (Battery eliminator circuit). Most of the time they are built into the ESCs, but your ESCs are (OPTO), which means they have no BECs. Here are two options, option one, and option two. You only need to buy one, and the cheaper one seems to have...

    Help with Quad build

I think it would be fine, but if you could find a Phantom one used affordable I'd get that. You may want someone more experienced with products like @holtneil to confirm or deny this particular quadcopter. EDIT: I just read the reviews and they seem surprisingly positive for a phantom...

    Help with Quad build

What are you planning to use your quad for? I really suggest you get 900kv-1000kv motors, as they handle a little bigger props than 1200 will. Bigger props means more lift, and more efficiency. You could handle a bigger battery for more flight time. Play around using this calculator...

All parts of a quadcopter needed?

Power distribution is important, transmitter/receiver could also be added to your list.

Please look at my build - Do i have all the parts to make it fly?

Welcome to the forum, what follows are mainly just suggestions, they may help you improve your build, but I understand from experience that budget is the biggest limiting factor. Make sure your power-distribution cable has the correct end on it to fit your battery (xT60 is the most common)...

I passed a milestone last week.

I see, I did not know you had to for commercial photography. Hard to keep up on all of the different laws that may affect mutirotors. The general public are so busy focusing on the possible bad things that can involve mutirotors. Would it be ok for me to use yours as an example for a...

I passed a milestone last week.

Wow, what is the reason you decided to register it? Was this required for you to use it for S&R?
