What receiver and what flight controller do you have?

Does the control board appear to have any power (lights or anything)? Also has it ever worked, or did it die after flashing it? How are you connecting everything, can you provide a diagram or picture with annotations?

Oh, just looked, you only need signal for most of your Rx in and ESC outs, as the ground and power can be picked up on the first motor and first channel.

The lone yellow wire could be video out, and it pick up ground from the power.

My thoughts exactly for buying one. If you get it you will really want to do that battery mod as it is really annoying with AA batteries.

It is really just a "patch" or "baindaid" until you get a real one, and it may save 30$ from buying a more expensive "bandaid" that you could use to get a real Tx. Yet at the same time it can last you a couple years, and will do further than you can see LOS.

You may also want to look into the Turnigy 9x, between it and the Orange are the two best in this price range.

Ok, so it uses in-runners, and there fore uses no ESCs. The only thing I can think of would be a firmware modification. It is probably a safety feature, it may be possible to remove a diode or something that may sense that resistance, but for that you'd need a detailed circuit diagram.

If you can't yet get a worthwhile Tx ($20-$30 budget)then I really suggest you get the HKTR6a, and use it until you can get a real Tx. If you get it here is a mod I did to mine. I like it, it has a range of EASILY a thousand feet, I have gone further than that, but I fly on a wide open farm...

Hmm, the notch is not needed, I think it is where prop adaptors usually go. These will work just fine (any colour you choose), I suggest you get these for testing, and carbon fibre or maybe nylon (cheaper) for when you are ready to fly.

They may test them before hand with a field test. Ahhhh, my dream job right there, unless your just hooking them to a testing tool.

That is correct, this is so it does not get hot or burn out. You may shop around for a battery about that size, HK usually have the best prices, but their shipping is usually higher. Be sure to buy from the US warehouse to avoid some of that shipping cost.

You still have some gains, switches and things that need configured, not to get you off the ground, but if you want to use more than your 4 channels.
