What's the best quad for my needs for £150

Depends which you get and how you will use them. So you don't need quite GoPro quality, just good enough to post on youtube? The main problem with toy grade is that their motors don't last long even without crashes, a coreless motor will be lucky to get 7 hours of normal flying. I don't...

What's the best quad for my needs for £150

Hmm, what type of camera do you want to hold, and will you have someone who can film for you. Also the biggest thing is your budget. There are quadcopters that will follow the subject, and many have other functions like circling the moving object.

    Programmable Quadcopter

Look into APM and MutiWii, and any other open source quadcopter flight controller. What type of experience with hardware and software do you have? The APM is Arduino based and can have flight planning. Check out this list, set the filter to open source and you can use about anything from...

Huge Discount on X PlusOne 60 MPH VTOL Drone!

Normally I might consider removing this but this is an interesting product. i have seen actual quads going almost vertical, but they always have a big drop rate, I never thought about a design so simple, it may not behave or feel exactly like a plane, but I can guess that this design would...

How to build my own quadcopter ! Need Help !

Here is HK's DVR Here is a cheaper DVR Though most people have a seperate camera to record with, I suggest the Runcam. It is cheaper than both the GoPro and Mobius, but perhaps a little better than the Mobius, the GoPro is great but not cheap. I don't know what your platform will hold, so...

No, it uses a different encryption type, the media is the same buy the information that is being transmitted is different. You would need a 5.8gHz video receiver. Here is a whole budget FPV setup I'd suggest Camera/32ch 5.8gHz transmitter <-- Will work with about any 5.8gHz receiver...

450 Sized Quad "Grasshopper Effect" Problem

That is the biggest problem for most people. Yeah, it would be good to start there because you can't learn on a broken quadcopter :).

    Toy RTF

Yeah, coreless motors are absolute crap, but they are cheap. If you could find anything with brushless motors (like hobby grade) you could do well. The reason those tiny motors don't usually need to last long is that they will be bent at some point. I have hat one go bad with 3 hours of...

    Need a new controller recommendation?

Does this have a separate transmitter and what flight controller does it use? I don't know of any toy grade that have RTH, maybe Neil will. @holtneil

450 Sized Quad "Grasshopper Effect" Problem

Try the new FC, or flash the KK. That may fix it. The problem is in the math that the FCB is doing.

    Range Extension

Yeah, just curious; how much did this cost? If you want something cheap that will do your needs until you get enough money to buy a better Tx a Hobbyking HKTR6a would be a full range system (~300m). I am not sure your quad will support it though. Does it have a detachable receiver?
