    firm ware

Can you give more information? What flight controller? Or are you even talking about a flight controller?

    self leveling

This is for a different firmware, but the self level is the same. As for the trim tabs, yes. Before each flight go into the receiver test and trim till everything is zeroed out. http://dl.btc.pl/kamami_wa/hk_54299_7.pdf

    Need help...

FCB = Flight Controller Board, and SMD means Surface Mount Device. An SMD is a component on a circuit board that has no pins, and is just soldered on the surface. Hot air or lasers are the best ways to solder it.

Well did you fly today post videos here

I get 1mbps upload speed so youtube videos take forever to upload, and processing takes forever too haha.

    Quadcopter Science Project

Bigger props are harder to spin up fast, and have more momentum so slowing them down is also harder. This is one of the reasons for collective pitch, pitch can be changed quickly without having to try to spin up or slow down the rotor.

As the topic says: What went wrong?

Hmm, defiantly sounds like a short. Try to find the short before adding power, and you will need to assess the damages, to aid you in finding the short you could test for for continuity among positive and negative wires.

You could check it over, if you find anything damaged, it is certainly reparable if your not afraid of SMD.

As the topic says: What went wrong?

Check to see if it is connected correctly, and has no shorts across pins. I recently had a problem while plugging my motor in that it spun up for no apparent reason. Try plugging the motor directly into the throttle input (should be channel three.) It should act normal, if not your is for...

As the topic says: What went wrong?

I agree with Neil, sounds like one motor or ESC is shutting off for some reason. I did not know the KK shut off other motors if one failed, but I'll keep that in mind haha.

Do you have any stripped gears? or Try putting the props on wrong (CCW on CW motors and so on), and spin it up on the ground, does anything unusual happen?

Yeah, there have been a lot of these popping up, for example the sprite. They all choose the same web design too xD.

Do all quadcopters have flight controller boards ?

PICAXE programming is beginning to become kind of dated, and writing stabilization firmware is no easy task. Even with all of the opensource softwares for Arduino it is easily a minimum of a 4 month task.

Well did you fly today post videos here

Runcam, so almost a Mobius. This was a test more than anything so the camera was direct mounted to an aluminium frame with unbalanced props and no PI adjustments xD. Surprised the video was even viewable, I will be getting a gimbal soon, so jello will be no issue. I live in Portsmouth...

As the topic says: What went wrong?

Haha, when you say it comes down, are all of the motors stopping at once? And is it consistent in any way it happens; only when throttle is over a certain point, only after it has flown so long, completely random, and ect.
