Kaideng K70C Motorws cut off mid flight!

The FAA rule is vague with: "Within line of sight", in that it doesn't specifically prohibit the use of telescopic lenses to enhance "line of sight"). FPV isn't "line of sight", as you're not actually looking at the drone itself with FPV, but viewing from an onboard pilot's perspective. "Within...

Looking for drone with 30+ minutes of flight time

Why am I thinking about a Led Zeppelin album???

Kaideng K70C Motorws cut off mid flight!

How close is "very close to me"? Read the maximum control range listed for your quad. Write it down. Take the auad out to where you normally fly it, and place it on the ground. Walk away from it with the controller turned on (If it has FPV capability, turn that on), without thtottling up to...

Syma X8G - replacing the PCB board and a few questions

Are the wiring harnesses for the motors long enough to reach the ends of the new arms? If not, plan on doing some soldering to splice in additional wire of the proper gauge and insulation colors (and matching wire type, whether solid or stranded), to get everything to match properly.

Syma X8C Fast Blinking Lights and Controller won’t Bind

I suspected as much about the original antenna. I already successfully added an antenna to the transmitter, using a 2 dbi antenna in place of the 6 dbi antenna that came with the kit.

Syma X8C Fast Blinking Lights and Controller won’t Bind

I've watched Youtube videos on installing a 2.4 GHz wifi antenna on Syma drones and their controllers. The process appears to be similar on Ai Freedom model drones, JJRC drones, and their controllers. I successfully installed one on my controller, and mounted one on the drone. But the videos...

Kaideng K70c Arm snapped off repair!

Even if the body is not repairable, don't throw it away. If you buy a replacement of the same drone, you can salvage the mechanism, electronics, and body components that weren't broken, as replacement parts for the new one. In the Air Force, that's standard practice for planes no longer...

Kaideng K70c Arm snapped off repair!

If the operating equipment is salvageable, perhaps you could fabricate a replacement body from available genetic parts, to install them in.

Kaideng K70c Arm snapped off repair!

I'm leery about trying to repair the break there. It's possible to do it. But you may have to use so much reinforcing material, that the weight balance would be thrown off. Does the manufacturer sell replacement bodies?

    Battery Connector placement?

There's a shop near my home that carries drones along with components. Being that mine is what's regarded as a "toy grade" drone, what parts do you suggest to accomplish this? My end goal, is to maximize this drone's potential, rather than experiment on a much more expensive drone. What proves...

    Battery Connector placement?

Oddly enough, I've been speculating on adding a second receiver to my quad, maybe one for a micro, that would be used to activate a small pen-sized flashlight that has it's own batteries, but was wired to light up remotely. Is this practical, or is there a practical alternative method?

Kaideng K70c Arm snapped off repair!

Just about all low to mid range drone sellers have a blanket return exclusion for crash-related damage. So that's not surprising. Where along the arm did the break occur? It may be repairable, if not at a joint such as where it meets the fuselage.

Yes it does. The website listed two in stock, and I bought both. Thank you!!!

    Swapping flight control boards.

While attempting to repair a broken wire connection on my FPV camera connection, I may have accidentally shorted out the flight control board in my Ai Freedom II, which is basically a rebodied Syma X8-series. The only response when I power it up is rapid blinking of the LEDs. The flight control...

Ai Freedom II mods and upgrades.

I hate Mondays. Had a loose cable on my FPV camera. and tried to solder the wires back into place. Now, I get a constant rapid flashing from the LEDs, the drone won't pair with the controller, and it doesn't go away with disconnecting the FPV camera from the drone. I've tried replacing the...

SYMA X8HW Wifi FPV Quadcopter Hands-on

Nice improvements on the Syma X8 series. Since these drones share msny common components with a few other similar drones which may be simply rebranded and rebodied Syma X8's, I look forward to parts such as the flight control board with altitude hold capability, becoming available as a seperate...

    1200mAh Batteries for Syma X5SW

The 1200 mAh lipo batteries are better suited for throttle controllers that use the 3.7v batteries. Since weight is not a factor with the controller, and the higher mAh capacity will keep the controller functioning longer. Lessening the chance of losing control while the drone is in flight.

Somebody is supplying them with common internal, and external parts. Motors, propellers, propeller drive gears, land struts, cameras, etc.
