You may be right about it possibly being a gimbal issue. I just saw a YouTube on gimbal settings and will review same on my app when I get home tonight.

Not sure what you are referring to here. Are you saying there is a setting that affects video stability of the camera?

That's what I've been talking about here for some time - it looks jerky when I pan horizontally. Of course I can record video on board the quad - it's a Phantom 4.

You may want to try slowing down speed of the gimbal. It can be done through both the controller and advanced gimbal settings in the Go 4 app. Have a read through this

Funny you should mention that. Last Sunday, I picked up the quad to go fly it out of the back yard, and this square piece of foam dropped out of the gimbal. At first, I was afraid that I had broken something. I tried to fit it back in and couldn't do it. Then I noticed the little, red label on it that said, "Remove before flying." I had flown the quad four or five times previously without removing the gimbal holder. So then, with the gimbal holder removed, I flew the quad last Sunday and took several videos. No different than the ones I had taken before with the gimbal holder still in place - they were still jerky.
I just registered at Vimeo which, I guess, is a video sharing Web site that will enable me to upload videos to this forum, right? I hope to get some of the jerky videos up in the very near future so you guys can see what I'm talking about.

Yep. You can upload the video to Vimeo. After it's uploaded, look below the video for the Share button and copy the URL out of the Link field. Then create a post here and click the Media Button (fifth from right) and paste the URL and press the embed button. When you do it, the forum will just put some text in your post and won't actually show it until you hit the Post/Post Reply button.

I feel like I took my car in to the mechanic, complaining about a noise in the engine that never stops, he wants to hear the noise, I turn the engine on and no noise. This video looks pretty smooth to me. I wonder what was going on before? I did shoot this in Tripod Mode, but I shot one just before this one and it was just as smooth.
Would you agree that this is acceptable insofar as smooth transition as the camera circles around? I know I moved the yaw a bit too fast, but I can fix that.

Like Spork says, show us a slower rotation so we can get a better look at the skipping. This is apparently not an uncommon occurrence with these 2-axis gimbals.
There IS video stabilization software you can use to minimize it when editing though.

Maybe you had some wind going on that made it shaky and the good video was on a calm day?

.... Didn't look too jerky to me !The rotational speed appeared to vary a tiny bit but that's also an optical aspect
as objects more close transition faster than those farther away.

I dont see anything wrong in that vid. The only thing I saw was the 150 or so degree fov affect. That slight fishbowling Gyro Doc was talking about. Objects in the outer limits of the fov move quicker because they are condensed in relation to the inner portion of the screen. 1" = 1' in the middle but on the outside 1" = 4-6' so an object going completely through the field of view moves fast then slower then fast again as it leaves frame. Seconds 15-20 there is an exhaust vent on the right side of the house, last one, that comes into view. It moves in the manner im describing.
