motor failure crash - please help !

got it, and have ordered one of those programming cards, think it would make it easier, I can see myself getting lost with all the beeping. Will get a spare ESC and try swapping them over too. Would you agree with the video guy's recommended settings: brake type: off timing mode: mid or...

Well did you fly today post videos here

a very first attempt at aerial photography. Rubbish by any standards, it's just the 'dashboard' cam from my motorbike strapped on upside-down underneath my quad with the battery strap and cable ties. You can see the bricks I had to launch it off in one of the shots since i don't even have the...

motor failure crash - please help !

So I was flying the other day, and all of a sudden, in steady level flight, one of the motors stopped temporarily, so the quad ended up falling end over end, from quite a high altitude - broken frame :-( This was a problem I've seen a few times before, but only very intermittently, and I...

    (3D animation) 10 seconds to learn18 aerial photography moves: 13 to 15

going to have fun with these when I've got camera'd up. Though I think in my case it will be 'forward sideways + turn around +backward sideways + random altitude +inadvertently fly into tree' Thanks for posting

    What Does Battery Autonomy Mean?

I'm afraid I'd agree - my 12y/o has a little indoor dual-axis helicopter and can barely fly it, lots of bunny-hopping and crashing. Of course I play around with it - but the yaw's on the wrong stick and there's no yaw trim so it slowly rotates round...

    (3D animation) 10 seconds to learn18 aerial photography moves: 1 to 5

that's interesting to watch, think I shall be playing about with aerial photography in the near future. I think the last two videos have got a little muddled btw, the pictures for no. 4 look like a pull-up and look down, and no. 5 looks like a fly-by ?

    travelling with a quadcopter

oops ! I flew with mine when it was all still in kit form, and I didn't know yet how nasty those lipos can be. Still, didn't make the evening news so that's ok

Compiling KK2.1 Steveis Firmware from Source Files

controlled crash would be quite cool - you could use the z-accelerometer readings to maintain a gentle downward motion, but boost the motors enough to stop it accelerating downwards. You can also make it kill the motors and auto-disarm as soon as it has no more z acceleration (ie it landed)...

Compiling KK2.1 Steveis Firmware from Source Files

will follow your progress with interest mate - I'm a bit of a hobbyist programmer on and off, and wouldn't mind mucking about with the firmware too at some point, though at the moment, can't think of anything I'd want to change. It's a shame there are only 5 input channels on the board...
