    duck legs

found the wide legged ones on Hobbyking shipping from the European warehouse for £8, rather than £34 from Amazon () so I've gone for those. Let's see if they're frame-crackers or not...

motor failure crash - please help !

did yours beep before crashing ? i think that might be the ESC's beeping when they're losing synch. Let me know how you get on, as will I

    duck legs

i was idly wondering if you could add some kind of ultra light but strong (aluminium, carbon fibre) cross-frame to the wide legged version, in an X shape, joining all the feet together at the bottom. Would make it more resilient in a crash since all the legs will take the force, and should give...

cheers, will watch that at home. I like a challenge anyway - so many connectors off that board, I reckon I can probably program it to make my tea too

motor failure crash - please help !

I'm pretty sure it's the ESC not syncing with the motor properly, and I have an ESC programming card now, will be trying to increase the advance timing to see if that fixes it. I haven't been able to test anything yet though, still waiting for replacement frame parts from China

    thinking about aerial photography

the gimbal arrived today - amazing piece of engineering, and for only £35 ! Assuming it works, that is... Strictly speaking it's for my birthday next month so I'm not allowed to play with it yet, but it'll give me time to google instructions for it, of which there are of course none.

    duck legs

yeah, I did see some of those actually: here Bit pricey though, about 7x more than the others at £35, and I imagine would put quite a bit of stress on the arms if you had a heavy/sideways landing. Looks better though imho, I might see if I can find some cheaper ones

    duck legs

are there any better long landing gear legs than these that I can go for, for an SK450 frame ? on Amazon They just look a bit flimsy, I can imagine them snapping off all over the place. Maybe I just need to buy several packets. (PS I couldn't post this in the Components subforum for some...

    thinking about aerial photography

a question on the gimbal - ideally I'd like to be able to tilt the camera during flight, say face-on, 45 degrees, and vertically down. Is that possible do you know ? Maybe with my spare rx channel (I have a couple of potentiometers and a 3-way switch I could configure to that channel), and...

    First Quad Syma X12

hi mate, they're hard aren't they ! Even once you've got past the initial bunny hopping and got your throttle under control, as soon as you start turning the quad round it's very easy to get disoriented. Mind you, if you're already flying through hoops then you're doing pretty well. Here's a...

    thinking about aerial photography

So I'm starting to think about adding a camera+gimbal to my quad. (450 frame, KK2.1.5, rest of the set-up as per my sig) I'd be looking to take smooth good quality video with it, possibly taking stills from the video stream. There's a lot of nice scenery round where I fly in Spain so I'd be...

    Eachine items update

just a thought, you might want to put a cable tie over that aerial so it can't pop up into the path of the prop, that would be pretty catastrophic I imagine
