    Overlapping Props

I appreciate all of the comments, and it sounds like a small amount of overlap will be just fine. I will have 15 inch props just in-case there is a stability issue. The kit (dji e1200 standard)I am looking at comes with 17 inch props anyway. If neither work out then I will move to the e800...

    Overlapping Props

Thanks HDtallrider. Seems simple enough to just extend the back ones if I need to. I still wonder how overlapping props would perform. Have you ever overlapped any before?

    Remote Locator for Quad?

I have not installed mine either lol. I purchased a wrong card for mine, and have not revisited yet. Once I get my builds straightened out I will though.

    Remote Locator for Quad?

    Overlapping Props

Hey guys, I am building an new quad and I was hoping to use 17 inch props, but I am at 800mm, and it is maxed out for 15 inch props. I thought about setting two of the motors higher than the other two so the props would not hit each other. I think I read that this could cause vibrations...

safest way to determine max flight range???

Cheapest way I can think of :) Friend, Cell phone, and a car unless other means. Remove props and hand the friend the quad, call them, and send them off. Communication is the key :) OR Telemetry. My Taranis reports when my signal is low and critical. Failsafe kicks in return to home on...

    Jello Help

The guys are correct. That jello is coming from the motors or props or a combination of both. One of the round rubber mounts looks loose too in your picture. ***At your own risk*** You could try holding the bottom while it is in the air and give it throttle. There should be no vibration at all...

Tarot ZYX-M DJI Naza Lite DJI Naza V2 These are all very easy to setup too. (The best bang for the cash is the Tarot - about $125.00) The video I posted in your other thread was a Naza v2. I have read the minix is good too, but I don't have any experience with them. Here is a ZYX-M that I...

Welcome home spycopter :D Good idea on the learning to fly before jumping into the deep waters! Everyone here is really friendly and most love to help others without bad or terrible remarks. One of the reasons I like it here so much.

    S500 Frame

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I am curious as to what are your flight times holtneil? I am guessing a 4s setup?

    S500 Frame

Thanks! Do you have a link to the exact frame you have? I think 2216 800kv, 10x5 props, and 4s 5000mah would get you in the teens for flight times. Multistar 5200 4s 10c would probably be a good fit.

U.S. Will Require Drones to Be Registered

It seems like I did read something about them being more concerned about traditional models. Ill see if I can find it. Found it. "AMA believes that traditional model aircraft, as well as the “toy-type” drones with minimal capability would fall below the threshold and not be subject to the...

    S500 Frame

I fly 900kv on my 500, and can get about 10 -12 minutes from a 5000mah. (Converting it now for larger props for better flight times) The lower the kv the longer the flight time will be, but know the max prop size for your 500 since it will be your limiting factor. Here is a video from mine...

    S500 Frame

They are more powerful and spin slower for larger props to deliver more thrust to lift a larger multi-rotor. The higher kv is for smaller props and smaller multi-rotors. The size depends on what type of flying you will be doing with your 500. What kinda flying are you wanting to do?

U.S. Will Require Drones to Be Registered

I totally agree with you on this. Registration fees are currently $5.00 per multi-rotor. Since they have to develop a new system to maintain, and house millions of records, then that cost will most likely go up.

I fly Tarot zyx-m, Naze32, Naza v2, Naza Lite, and A2. My 2 favorite are the zyx-m and A2 for AP. http://oddcopter.com/flight-controllers/ Here is some footage from my zyx-m on my Tarot 680 Hexacopter.
