I take it that no one else wanted to shoot down your idea :) 900 lbs would be highly difficult and it would be way over budget! It would most likely be all custom, and if you could convince your teacher of say 100k+ budget then it might be possible :)

I started with a flysky and its ok for a starter radio, but the quality is not there. My next radio was a Frsky Taranis and I could not image using anything else for my models.

If your looking for an out of the box radio then it may not be the best choice for you. There is a lot of information on the net thats makes it really easy to customize to your needs. I would watch a youtube on using or setup before you jump in on all radios that are in the running.
