Heat shrink is easy. I use a lighter in most situations, and a heat gun when shrinking an entire esc, but a lighter would work for that too.

I would say it is a good trade if it comes with a flight controller, and escs. These can be bought for 328.00 online new. You should purchase a cheap toy quad to learn how to fly before putting this one in the air if you have not flown a racing quad before.

Once should be enough for the escs.

Try calibrating the radio and escs.

I would think it would be the flight controller before the escs. It is not likely that all 4 escs went bad at the same time.

Power them on with full throttle, and then quickly throttle down. Make sure there are no props on the motors. This should calibrate them.

Maybe they need to be calibrated before they will power up? Have you calibrated them?

Motor balancing is only important for videography, or if you have one that is terribly out of balance. Not really needed on a 250.

250mm racer with a 10 minute flight time does not mix too well. The battery needed to sustain a 10 minute flight would make the quad sluggish. 4-5 minutes is about the best time/agility balance to work with. Here is a good starter quad...

Optos from what I can tell. They are not acting like they are getting power when you plug the battery in? (no beeping or sounds)

are they opto escs?

Did you calibrate the kiss to the radio channels? It sounds like it is not arming.
