Not a bad setup, I'd look for some Blheli ESCs. They seem to be easier to get a more stable platform as they are usually good right out of the box as far as firmware goes. If you could find a little bit lower kv motors I'd take a look, as that would for the most part give you a bit more...

Can you post some close up pictures of the amp? It might be fixable, and they usually burn or crack a resistor that is usually placed by the output to the antenna, but that varies greatly on the design. Also if you have access to any schematics of the amp, might be able to help there.
