    esc connection problem

Providing you don't use cheap parts, which most everyone does on their first build. If you don't have a budget for better parts yet I'd stick with it and then upgrade when you realize this is something worth spending on hahahaha

Newbie here. Exactly what is a "crash"?

Unintended landings with less than ideal control is a crash landing. Generally crashes involve damage, or rolling but not always. It pretty much comes down to your own definition.

    esc connection problem

It is not really needed more than once, just find a ground on the FCB and connect it to that black wire.

    esc connection problem

That is pretty standard for almost all setups, so you should be fine.

    esc connection problem

BEC stands for Battery eliminator circuit. Basically just a step-down so that you don't have to have a second lower voltage battery for lower voltage equiptment. So it generally steps the power down to 5 volts for your flight controller, reciever and maybe FPV camera or other sensors...

    esc connection problem

These ESCs are not using a BEC (or possibly only one is using a BEC). Your ground is likely coming from your PDB (grounding where it is getting power from the battery). So without the BEC, and with using the ground from the battery you really don't need any more than one wire, which is the...

Flight Log: Tell Us Bout Your Flights

Don't drop throttle on landings then hahahaha. It is a very common mistake that I did for a little while, but if you reduce throttle until it starts dropping, and then let it drop at that same rate (so only apply yaw and right stick corrections) you will have a nice and smooth landing. If...

    Reusing a transmitter/reciever

Technically yes, with the right tools like an arduino you could do this. However I'd strongly suggest against it.

    Experienced Advice

Haha, little bit of a typo there. However I meant more broad or long term goals, such as racing, freestyle, making money on youtube with free style/racing, some fun flying or perhaps later getting a a 333 exemption (out of date but you get the idea) for doing estate photography but you want...

What type of budget do you have? I also suggest the Eachine Falcon for a cheaper build to get you started, and you can even upgrade it later. However if you are willing to spend more, and want to get more for your money there are other, more expensive 250s, adn sub 250s that would handle a...

    First build, Several questions..

For CW motors you want to make sure you get Left Hand thread too. http://www.getfpv.com/m5-black-aluminum-shallow-flange-lock-nut-set-of-4-ccw.html More expensive but they ship fast, if you can find a similar lot to the link Jackson provided in Left Hand thread you would be all set, this is...

    First build, Several questions..

Depending on the manufacture, some are actually balanced with the stickers hahaha. usually manufactures taht are bigger name or those that make their own motors.

    First build, Several questions..

I'd personally prefer all CCW motors as that is what I get when I have a chance, but you are fine as long as you tighten the nut down, and I very strongly suggest you use nylon lock nuts. I'd suggest that you use the battery to balance the weight to the center of the quadcopter.

    Drone advice

Depends on your budget, if wind is a problem for the Phantom 3 then it will be a little hard to mitigate though you could build a hexacopter or octocopter that did not have that plastic shell which catches a lot of air.
