I don't think that's what the video says. As I view it, the FAA is saying that as long as your quad does not take off from, or land on, the private property in question, then you are OK and may fly over the subject property. I don't see the FAA saying you must take off from and/or land on...

Excellent counsel, John. Early on, I learned to be very careful about where and when I fly my quad. If I think there is the slightest chance someone is going to hassle me, I simply move on.

I do know the difference between a tort and a crime, of course, but have to admit, in this case, I overlooked that difference. No criminal sanctions are mentioned anywhere in this Civil Code section. I am embarrassed. :oops:

Thanks, Rick. You know, on Saturday, I went back and tried to fly my Syma - remember that one? Crashed it twice. You just touch the controls on the Syma, and it's GONE in whatever direction you started it out on. Very hard for me to fly. Phantom 4? Steady as a rock; piece of cake.

Well, it does - in a way. I understand you can make the home point a spot on the ground or your controller. Right now, I'm not interested in making it the controller; only a spot on the ground. So you have to LAND to set up a new control point, right? Where is the tab to record the new home...
