Quadcoptor for 3D mapping of environments.

I'm inclined to think that you need six rather than four motors for this payload, and the amount of time it will have to stay airborne. In order to keep from overloading the motors. Does anybody know if a Yuneec Typhoon H would be a good starting point for this project?

    Receiver Antenna questions

I'm looking at the FlySky i6 transmitter and receiver combination. The receiver has two antennae. What is the best (and safest) method to mount them within a quad frame, to avoid damage to them, while not degrading their effectiveness?

LMFAO!!! So lemme get this straight. It's OUR fault that HE made poor decisions in purchasing, operating, and maintaining his drones. It's the "Zodiac killer defense": "Stop me before I kill again!!!":D

First Flight With Syma X8SC - Success!

I just checked eBay. Search under "Syma X8 battery". There are at least ten listings of 2500mah batteries for sale with chargers.

First Flight With Syma X8SC - Success!

Also, check on eBay. There are replacent batteries for the Syma X8-series quads, rated at up to 2500mah. That can give you up to an additional five minutes of flight time.

Still haven't received an answer, as to what determines if a brushless motor will run properly at 3.7, 7.4, or 11.1VDC?

I tried to get John Cleese to translate that into American English (now THERE's an oxymoron....), but he wasn't available....

I've seen that on eBay already. But that isn't as complete a conversion as going with hobby grade hardware "upstream" from the brushed motors. The Syma X8 conversion kit still uses the Syma FCB, and transmitter. Plus it is using brushless motors. And from watching a YouTube video of the...

I am curious about another aspect of this. Can a toy grade quad with brushed motors be upgraded with a hobby grade power distribution board, flight control board, and matching transmitter and receiver? That would seem like a logical intermediate step between pure toy grade, and hobby grade...

US Army Grounds DJI Drones Over 'Cyber Vulnerabilities' - Aviation International News

It isn't hard to "read between the lines" over the concern. Army officials are concerned that using DJI software and cameras, these quads are possibly subject to being hijacked (or skyjacked if airborne) by the Chinese military, or someone working on their behalf. Notice the directive includes...

Actually, as a former USAF combatant, I spent a considerable amount of time in simulators at my base. Though they've obviously advanced in realism since the 1970's. The idea then as now, was/is that practicing on a simulator is way cheaper than the cost per hour of putting an actual aircraft in...

Curious as to why you're going with brushed motors. Many of the posts that I've seen here have been associating brushed motors along with the toy grade quads usually equiped with them, as inferior to anything with brushless motors and ESC's. In light of that, your pursuing brushed motors for a...

JJRC H8D or MJX Bugs 2

If you plan to push it to the range limit, go with the one that has the return home feature. If you plan to keep it close while learning to use it, go with the one that can do the flips. When you feel that you've mastered control, buy a more expensive one with all of the features that you want.

    Transmitters and receivers.

Okay. But to get to a specific question about brushless motors. Are they specifically designed to operate at 3.7VDC, 7.4VDC, or 11.1VDC, or is that determined elsewhere in the circuitry? I have numerous 7.4VDC lipo batteries rated at 2500mah that I'd rather continue using, rather than purchase...

    Transmitters and receivers.

So I've chosen a modestly-priced power distribution board and flight control board combination on eBay, which is listed as Naze32 acro, and compatible with Fly Sky receivers. I've narrowed the choices among ESC's down to those rated at 30A max, given what I've been reading here. The issue I have...

Oh, hell. You might as well mix up some Clorox bleach with powered cleanser, and create your own home made chemical munitions while you're at it. Gas your neighbors. They oughtta get a blast outta that!!!

Other devices possible on camera socket ?

.45 Cal. pistols and flamethrowers are definitely dangerous in the wrong hands. Even with responsible persons doing this under carefully-controlled conditions, I strongly recommend not publishing a "how to" guide for accomplishing this. As there are way too many out there that would use this...
