If you have a multi-tester make sure reciever is getting 5 volts. Sometimes the fc boards have jumpers you have to solder to get the correct voltage to work.

I've been hearing stories of motors getting smoked with bad tuned bf 4.xxx although I've not used it much the couple kwads I do have on it fly fine with cool motors lol. Usually smoked motors are the result of operator error though.

Can you pop the top and give us a pic of the electronics? Also figure out what motors it has and what tx/rx protocol it has. (we already know it is 5G wifi, that's the camera and vtx.)

Yeah the signals tend to not transmit too good through trees.

Something small using dji digital fpv system and crossfire tx/rx combo would probably do it (and be a fun way too). Something like this:

You will have a very difficult time trying to fly the tyro 79 without goggles as it's meant for fpv.

One way I test for dshot is to give it an og esc calibration. If you don't hear the chimes you should be using dshot.

Nooooo!! Sorry that happened bro however I've seen people land on stuff before without issue. Theory: hovering too long caused the escs to heat up and catch fire? Remember usually you're doing 90 on a slow day and all the wind keeps things cool. Just a thought.
