I'm So Lost! I Need Help Setting Up Eachine Racer 250

Glad you got it sorted.... wait till you get it going really fast!

BTW - I am your local representative for Quadaholics Annymous - we hold weekly meetings..... FYI the signs of addiction are:
Getting a bigger, faster more bits on quad.
Looking longingly at other flyers quads.
Buying another radio because you think it will be better than what you have - repeat this 3 or 4 times.
Buying a build it yourself (DIY to poms) quad frame and all the parts.
Repeat above with different size frame and suitable parts.
Repeat above again - but add FPV

There are more ... but maybe the gang can add their own signs of addiction.

Nice!! Have fun with it. Quad 1o2 is right about openpilot. When i got my arf 250, libre pilot didnt work as a first firmware download. I started with open pilot and switched to librepilot. I have no idea why. Im flying the zmr250 download in librepilot right now. Its flying great but just starting to feel too slow as I get better. There are Pid adjustment configuration vids that guys have used to get more performance. You might want to check that out later on as you get better at flying it. Also you can do some modifications like some guys are doing, or just fly the way it is. I moved my vtx to the back and moved my radio rx under the top plate above the control board and then moved the battery on top for easier battery changes ( little velcro patches on plate and battery help hold it along with the velcro strap). I also moved it because I was watching youtube reviews of guys destroying their control board in crashes because the battery smashes into it and because moving the battery brings the weight forward and more center. Also take some dental floss and loosly tie down your little rubber camera platform shocks. I lost two in a crash the other day. Its a stupid little thing but now I cant use my runcam until I get my little red shocks. Oh yeah, get a little low voltage buzzer too. They are like $3-$7 on amazon. If you are like me you wont pay attention to your batt voltage while flying. The buzzer goes off and lets you know its time to land and charge back up. I guess the rule of thumb is to wait ten minutes before charging. There are some good threads about lipo batts on this site. Check them out for safety and care to get the most out of your lipos. Have fun flying! :).

Your wife thinks you have gone insane and tells you," No.... and for the last time, I dont want to watch your latest flight video!" Since you cant understand why she doesnt share the same interest in flying quads... You think she must be going insane.

She also is pissed about the credit card bill and says some confusing words that sound like, "stop buying all that "drone" crap off the internet!", but you have no idea what she is talking about because those words dont make any sense to you. :)

  • So Street, I remembered another thing you should do. Hot glue the ESC capacitors. The word is they can break off in crashes. You could also do some nerdy stuff like this: image.jpeg image.jpegimage.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg
The red/black one is my current quad. The other one is my new one. Messing around with colors. I painted the top plate, front plate and rear arms blue and the front arms and camera plate yellow. It might look stupid or it might look good, but its fun to change it around and see how it turns out. :)

I've got it working now. Jeezzzz... lol that was ridiculous but it was all user error. Thanks so much guys for helping. I just got it out in the garage for about 3 minutes and hovered it. Thing was LOUD! lol so I decided to wait until tomorrow where I could get in some open area and let it drift a bit. I could control the hover in the garage but I just feel like one baby slip and it's going to smash into something. LOL garage is a mess. Now i'm charging the runcam for some morning action. LOL Thanks again. I'm sure you guys will see tons of me.

Just a reminder - WHEN you do change to LibrePilot - before you upgrade the firmware - take a not of your OpenPilot PID settings - I did screenshots so I don't lose them on bits of paper!

Thanks much guys! This community is the best! So here is my first flight video. Hope I've made you semi proud. LOL

I still don't know why you guys didnt use the easy connecter and harnesses that comes with it. It hooks right up to the I6 receiver... no thinking involved. Lol! Im going to hook it up and take a picture tomorrow.

I'm going to need a nice backup of props. What do you guys consider good bang for the buck when it comes to ordering more?

My experimenting so far... Gemfans stink- break easy. King kongs have been pretty good and DALs have been the best. It could be that Im getting better but I havent broke any yet. Ive had several crashes with the same set.

Did we remind you to set the failsafe? I dont remember.

so my new issue seems to be I can't get a signal to my goggles. I must be missing something. I'm going to keep messing with it but if you think of anything i'd love to hear from you. LOL

Hi fellas, I'm having an issue like street did, I'm having trouble what pre canned setup to use in librepilot? I've managed to hack my way through a bit and get it flying, but it doesn't seem right. My racer 250 was bought receiver ready, and I bought an fs-i6 transmitter separately. Do you use zmr250 settings to get it close? For one my flight modes don't seem to be correct. I seem to have stability (which I think is mode one), and acro, (mode 3?) but no horizon...which I know I don't desperately need but makes me think it isn't setup correctly. Thanks guys!

Hi fellas, I'm having an issue like street did,
That's hard to say with no real info from you.

So you have assigned your 3 way switch for the flight modes? And how did you come up with the names? For a CC3D it's Attitude, Rattitude and Rate. All have various tweaks.

sorry, not trying to be confusing, I just don't know. Horizon and acro are terms I found online that I thought applied, but I guess that's for other controllers. Is attitude self leveling, rattitude self leveling but not limited in how far the quad will pitch back and forth, and rate fully acrobatic?

I guess what I'm trying to figure out, is when connecting the quad to librepilot, what is the premade settings people use? I see lots of other models but the racer250 is not listed, so I use "generic". The quad then reacts the way I would expect in attitude, and also rate, but rattitude is no different than attitude, if that makes sense...

So in this photo there is a plug adapter, a 7 pin all black wires and a 2 pin black wires . These connect perfect to the I6 and come in the ARF kit. Thats how the RTF kit is wired. Plug the adapter into the reciever and plug the 7 pin and 2 pin harnesses into the adpter and ofher end into the controller.

Hello my name is zach. Im new to flying quadcopters. Started 3 months ago. I bought an eachine racer 250 and am loving it wo far.
