I'm So Lost! I Need Help Setting Up Eachine Racer 250

Things i like about Librepilot for this quad and the cc3d flight controller. The drop down menu for pid settings. It has the eachine 250 in it.

That is it.

Things i do not like. Pretty much everything else. Want to add a new aux switch? gotta run the entire transmitter set up thing again. Fight modes? yea, does not count as an aux channel, you will reload the entire software several times before you figure out why your switches are not working like they should. And that is probably AFTER the half dozen times you have already ran it because no one mentions you need to activate the switches and assign them a channel in the transmitter BEFORE you run the software. Battery a little low? quad setup will not work properly. No headless mode. what the hell? Flight modes? what does "rate" mean? Not a damn thing until you look it up on the web. What is wrong with the world "manuel? "attitude? yea i got one from trying to use my GI Joe decoder ring to figure out what the hell they were talking about. "ratitude?" Really? was the programming done by a 12 year old?

i hope it rots in hell just like openpilot. Incomplete, need a GI Joe decoder ring to figure out what anything means, no explanation when something doesnt work properly. just kind of have to figure it out by yourself.

Once you figure it out it is simple to use but still VERY limiting if you want to adjust ANYTHING outside of running the entire set up process again. Already ordered the adapter to flash cleanflight on the flight controller. Still need the JI-Joe decoder ring but it is much easier to make adjustments in after the quad is set up.

Update, crashed it into alot of stuff. Antenna looks like a pretzel, on third set of props, put a dent in my truck, it is one tough little quad.

Tips, get the naze32 fc if you have a choice. by one and replace the cc3d if you dont. DO NOT try to flash cleanflight on to this cc3d. Trust me, just buy another chip. The files and information on the web to do it are very outdated. Bad boot files, firmware that does not work with current version of cleanflight, the list goes on.

Do not waste your time or money on a s4 battery until you upgrade the esc's and motors. All you will accomplish is adding more weight for little to no more flying time.

Forget setting up a switch for the lights. once you turn them on, you have to cycle through 6 different colors to make them go off again. thats 12 flips of a switch to turn them off after turning them on. just use the little switch on the quad.

velcro will save your fc from getting smashed by your battery when you crash. The strap is not enough.

use a sbus reciever. Smaller.

scavenge your jjpro-t1 for a shell to protect your receiver. Trust me, that and target practice are all it is good for anyway.

Do not forget to secure your receiver antennas or your props will trim them for you. Same with the charging plug flopping around on the back of your battery.

Do yourself a favor and put locktite on the screws holding the arms and motors at the very minimum.

After scrapping the cc3d for a naze32 and using G-tune in Cleanflight, this tough little quad flies like i haven't crashing it into everything domestically conceivable. This is the perfect quad to buy when you are ready to move on from toy grade to the next level.

i plan on sitting here with this one until i am fairly comfortable moving on from stabilized flight modes to manual. Right now my aggressive pitches end up in forward flips or face plants into the ground. might take a while.
