Weak counterclockwise motors? Weak CCW ESCs? Bad internal gyros.... Try rotating the quad right as you turn it on, maybe that will counteract the bad gyros...

Did you try recalibrating the accelerometers? With no avail?

The imax needs a power supply does it not? I use the thunder ac680 which is ac/dc self powered 80watt balance charger. Maybe $10 more than the imax but more convenient i guess. Btw how do you determine the internal resistance. The imax gets that for you?
