    HAHAHA, I know the feeling!

Can't figure out how it works.

Also an Xbox controller is a nice idea, but you won't get any usable reliable range. @Nick can tell you about that xD

Can't figure out how it works.

You REALLY need to get a simple control board like a KK2.1.5 at first as it will be hard enough to get flying with that, then after you know your hardware is good THEN you can start working on code. Seen a lot of experienced people give up or get burned out trying to get one flying starting...

Hahaha, be sure to post videos!

Hahaha, I use the cables all the time haha. Though I usually make them specially for the quad haha.

Just get a high gain bipole.

    Old school "toy" hybrid build.

Only in this hobby would you be concerned with dropping a paperclip's worth of weight hahaha.

    5.8ghz antenna on 2.4 system

No, the range would be terrible, the antennas have bends in the correct places and the "leafs" are the correct length. On another note 2.4gHz does not need to be polarized.

    Motor shafts

That will help a lot, worst case you could shorten the shaft a bit,

    ESC

If you already have it use it haha. Many people have had problems with them, it may just be build quality, if you need a 4-in-1 esc then the modular type are not too bad.

so you want a quadcopter or multirotor

Hahaha, I have seen some pretty impressive ones that were not hobby grade.

so you want a quadcopter or multirotor

Hahaha, sounds good. They are really a fun little gateway drug before you get into the hard stuff that hurts/kills your wallet. xD YOu can fly them about anywhere vs having to make plans for the day hahaha.

so you want a quadcopter or multirotor

The problem with getting a toy grade quad is that they don't hold as much weight for more electronics. Toy grade quads (about all non modular quadcopters that use DC motors) are fun and great tools to learn to fly, but hobby grade open many new abilities and higher quality stuff. You pretty...

    PCB sizing

PCB is Printed Circuit Board, PDBs are usually a PCB. Also the link for the cable appears to be for a tricopter.

    Motor exploded?

Try a new fet, I have been known to rob parts off one ESC to see if it fixes the one with a problem. If it does not your not out any money. Just be sure your comfortable enough with soldering and desoldering.

Most suitable, best value for money without starting a collection of radio's

Hahahaha, that right there is a pretty accurate description of the hobby.

New runcam/mobius like camera... but with low latency and a built in transmitter

You should be able to wire your FPV in parallel to record your FPV without the need for your signal to pass through the DVR if you have a separate DVR that is. This camera is defiantly a way forward for FPV haha.

Most suitable, best value for money without starting a collection of radio's

In my opinion the best radio for your money is the Turnigy 9XR PRO, as you can upgrade it to do a lot; for example a 433mHz system for long range (probably only needed for fixed wing). Orange is great, as it is really good quality and compatible with a lot. The Turnagy 9x is great as it is...
