Welcome to the forums, and thanks for the tip.

Making my CX-20 full FPV with GoPro HERO .. ?

You can get a lot better FPV set for cheaper if you wish. Take a look at this post.

    Build from scratch octacopter

You have to be careful using cheap parts, a failure is likely, and will cost you a lot more than better motors.

MASSIVE CONFUSION - wierd things happening with ardu2.5

Are you using mode 1 or 2? You can swap the channels, change settings in the Tx, or a few other options. You just have to identify the problem. What transmitter are you using, can you give a link?

    Build from scratch octacopter

Hahaha exactly, we'd be build and design multirotors all day if we could just afford the parts xD

Planning first quad build [must get right the first time]

In a perfect world with simple physics this would work, but it is REALLY complex, a flight controller makes hundreds of changes a second using PIDs (sometimes without the derivative). So you will need dedicated stabilization, I suggest you get a simple flight controller to interface with, but...

Planning first quad build [must get right the first time]

Well, you are going to need something to interface between the Pi (Micro-processor, not micro-controller, it is just a SBC) and the ESCs. Your stabilizer needs to be really low level as it makes corrections so often that any latency will make it wobble.

    Motor size vrs. prop size

Hahaha, in general the bigger the diameter of the bell the more torque(just using torque though that is not the proper measurement) the motor will have, same with the magnets (the relation between the two also affects the frequency of the phasing). The wattage is how many amps the motor can...

    Build from scratch octacopter

What you listed are pretty good ideas. I have tried to make a multirotor industructable, it was plenty strong (I could jump up and down on the frame), but even that did not make crashes harmless. So I see no problems decreasing to tube size. So what are you planning on carrying?

    Motor size vrs. prop size

The first number has to do with the torque, and the second with RPM per Volt (k/v) Usually you use the wattage and KV to decide what a motor can do.

Are you lifting a just gopro, or a gopro and a gimbal?

A 450-500 class would be just fine, as you don't have to fly over people (you should never fly over people and if you did you should have them sign something, for example on a ticket for them to get in)

Some ideas on a project - lifting a heavy body - no need to be very nimble

Try adding weight to the frame to make it the right weight that you estimate your new frame to be. See if it lifts it, and how it flys.

Thanks, just hope it helps hahaha.

    First crashproof drone

Yeah hahaha. They did this to try to get control of people flying in bigger areas like auditoriums and stadiums. I am afraid of what might happen when you get a bunch of idiots who are clueless about the technology coming together and making the laws.

I meant are you flying in side, outside, and are you flying over people?

For Hubsan H107L fans in the USA.

If you like a killer looking frame look at the robocat. A guy on facebook realeased a GREAT way to make one out of some bottle of a hair product, looked great and was jsut a regular 250 frame with an emptied, cut-up bottle. haha

We sure can hahaha. First question is where are you flying, what are you carrying, and what is your budget.
