Flight Log: Tell Us Bout Your Flights

Great pics!! In all fairness to the Syma-cam in the above photos, the Syma-cam has trouble with exposure where the horizon is split between the bright sky and the darker earth. If I tip it back so the sky fills the frame and then simmer down to a steady hover, the earth is burnt by the camera...

    Soma X8W Take off

Please note Marvo that in the image above the clockwise motors are diagonal to each other and the counter clockwise motors are likewise. As in your two 'A' blades would be top left and lower right and the 'B' blades would be upper right and lower left. [or vice versa] If you have them [or they'd...

    Soma X8W Take off

Hi Marvo. Hope it's something we can help with here. Then you don't have to sit around waiting for China to send along another one. Indoors [and I highly recommend not flying indoors nor in a smaller backyard until you've got a handle on it. Or buy the crash kit off Ebay. I had to because I...

    Soma X8W Take off

You could check for a sticky gear motor assembly. A quick spin of the blades would rule that out but you could check to see if there is some play between the gears that might only appear during peak loads on the motor such as on takeoff. Just a thought from a fellow newb. There are clockwise...

Flight Log: Tell Us Bout Your Flights

    Soma X8W Take off

Gramps is right. If all blades are turning it's not the motor. It's the blade or blades on wrong. If you have the bumpers still on it make sure a bumper isn't contacting a blade. You'd hear that though. Tick tick tick. Pretty sure the blade configuration would be pretty much the same as the X5C...

Cheerson CX-20, goes berzerk commits suicide... what happened?

Acronyms.. they're killin me. I thought RTF meant ready to fly.... Is the button not RTH like return to home or am I missing something here? I use to work for Bell Canada and talk about acronyms... geesh we use to talk whole sentences without using a noun or verb. Feel foolish asking and will...

    4GB card transfer problems.

Thanks guys, I tend to use the same port because of its ease of access and its been doing this from the git-go. I had issues with the camera at first Jackson, with it not recording and the camera being completely pooched. Fixed that by proper card management. Inserting, formatting and ejecting...

    Why are you doing this?

I do get the same rush. I like the indoor flying lately. As I direct it around the room... I like that control. I film almost every time I go out to fly. Mostly at dawn or dusk seem to be best but filming in that light can be challenging. I said in another post that it was getting boring. I...

    4GB card transfer problems.

Hi holtneil. I can play the file while it's on the card [windows media player is the default]. They play fine but won't transfer using Copy/Paste, Cut/Paste, drag/drop in Windows Explorer. I'm thinking it's the USB/card adapter that came with the quad that's faulty and my PC USB transfer returns...

Cheerson CX-20, goes berzerk commits suicide... what happened?

Sorry for your loss man. That sucks and I would definitely go after the supplier. Were you able to retrieve any video from the card? You might get a clue ab out what happened by listening to the motors from the last operation you passed along as an instruction to the quad. Just a thought. I'm...

    4GB card transfer problems.

I format the card after each use, Quest and fat32 is the default for this action. Thanks for the response. Sure is a head scratcher! :)

    Why are you doing this?

Curious what your enjoyment entails? For me, someday I would like to pilot an ROV on an underwater adventure. I see a lot of similarities between flying around inside my home and piloting an ROV remotely around a sunken wreck. I've become quite adept at tucking this into open closets, up and...

    4GB card transfer problems.

Has anyone else encountered this problem. I have a 4 GB card onboard my Syma X5C-1. When I try to transfer the video file to my PC using the supplied USB card holder, I get the following error and have to begin the process all over. From removing the card to opening Explorer etc. The only way...

    X5C-1 video problem

I had problems with the video/photo on my X5C-1 almost from the start. 0 byte files, not being able to access the card to see if it actually recorded and poor transfers to my PC - Then just a dead camera. I found out through a lot of research that I was the problem not the card or camera. There...

Flight Log: Tell Us Bout Your Flights

I have. I usually video most flights but they're getting boring now. I'm tweaking the camera mount, using the long screws from the prop guards to replace the short attaching screws that mount the camera. That allows me to achieve a more straight ahead rather than downward angle of view. Saw the...

    It LIVES!!! bwahahaha IT Lives!!!

Probably don't wait as long as I should Sam. Good advice! I've got five batteries to rock my way through now. I was wondering if the other three Batteries I had would still charge properly [it was the charger I suppose] or if the bad [???] batteries would harm the new charger in some way.

    It LIVES!!! bwahahaha IT Lives!!!

Got the battery charger and five new 3.7v 720 mAh from a shipper in California. Popped the Syma X5C-1 right back into the air and I just got in from some test flights. So far they seem to last as expected. About 8 minutes. I had my stopwatch in my pocket. Forgot to time them until half way...

    My First Build - 1965

Swapping tales is a good thing! Thanks for sharing! I started out with this X5C-1. I think I've spent more on parts and accessories than the cost of the quad LOL! Great fun though and I'd recommend this model to anyone starting out.
