4GB card transfer problems.

Has anyone else encountered this problem. I have a 4 GB card onboard my Syma X5C-1. When I try to transfer the video file to my PC using the supplied USB card holder, I get the following error and have to begin the process all over.

From removing the card to opening Explorer etc. The only way I can transfer some of the larger files is to open the file in Corel Video Studio Pro 4 and then convert the file to an MPG4 and save it. I really would like to just keep the .AVI files. Not sure if it's the transfer rate? My PC USB? The card? I already know about the 0-byte files caused by improper shutdown before turning the camera off. Is there a work around?

I format the card after each use, Quest and fat32 is the default for this action. Thanks for the response. Sure is a head scratcher!

Hi mate use VCL player then use this as the default for all AVIs , then try that ,noramlly you should be able to go into the file on the card while its in the camera and just cut and copy to the file you want to keep it in , then play back from that file

Hi holtneil. I can play the file while it's on the card [windows media player is the default]. They play fine but won't transfer using Copy/Paste, Cut/Paste, drag/drop in Windows Explorer. I'm thinking it's the USB/card adapter that came with the quad that's faulty and my PC USB transfer returns a null along the way somehow. It is consistent but also a pain in da harse as they say in Gaspé. Thanks holtneil. I do use VLC for .flv files.

Is this a new development? Do you always plug in to same USB port?

Just for the heck of it try transferring from the Command Prompt with 'copy'.

I would try a different adapter, the one that came with mine wouldn't let me do anything with the files not even view them. I use an adapter that came with one of my Sandisk cards.

Next I would try a different USB port if possible.

Thanks guys, I tend to use the same port because of its ease of access and its been doing this from the git-go. I had issues with the camera at first Jackson, with it not recording and the camera being completely pooched. Fixed that by proper card management. Inserting, formatting and ejecting in a proper sequence. I transfer files all the time using thumb drives with no problems with the USB port. I don't have another adapter to try but thanks gramps for the confirmation that yours too was acting up. I have some other USB ports on the back of my tower so I'll try one of those. I just got in from some flights [I have 8 batteries now...heheheh.... poor little motors all hot and swelly!!! ] Thanks guys, I'm going to try a new USB port with unfortunately the old adapter!
