I will have to keep this in mind :)
Now that I think of it, I did once buy a battery with too low of a c rating, and my ac flew fine, but the battery was dead in 1/3 of the time than it should have been.
If the c rating is too low you will have a sluggish craft. I fly 1400mah 45c on my 250. If this is your first aircraft I would start with mild props, and move to the bullnose once once you can fly a few times without breaking any props.
What batteries and props do you use with your multistars...
Where are you located? Here in the states the pilot has to hold a valid aircraft pilot license, and the company or pilot has to hold a 333 exemption to be able to fly for commercial purposes.
Is this your first aircraft?
Props: 5030
Battery: multistar high capacity 3s 1300mah - 1800mah lips
Controller/receiver: I would at least get a 6 channel radio.
Are you using the dji compatible cord that comes with the controller? Mine will not connect unless I use a dji compatible cord.
It will make the usb connection sound, but will not connect to the assistant software.
I also have one dedicated laptop to windows 7 since everything seems to work on...
I know you guys are building your own, but I found this to be pretty cool.

If the phantom's camera is like my inspire camera it will have built in stabilization. Also, you could remove the gimbal on that one and add a gopro gimbal, and then you could film with your gopro.
This is one pain point of the inspire that I dislike. The crap chargers that take forever to charge a battery, and the stupid expensive smart batteries.
I have ordered a ton of stuff from Hobby King without error. Sorry you had this kind of service from them.
Good job on getting your first quad in the air :D
Would be super cool, but not sure if I would trust it until it went through several firmware upgrades
