    JJRC 1000A

So just solder in the jjrc board and use the x6 and away you go. No weird programming or voodoo needed? I really don't have any use for another radio but it might be worth grabbing. My oldest grandson is getting interested in building something.

    JJRC 1000A

Impressive. I had no idea you could do so much with these. Can you use the other Devo radios? Like the 8 or 10? The reason I ask is I can pick one up from a buddy for $25. I just don't remember if it's a 8 or 10.

I have to say. You sure found a way to have fun cheaply in this hobby. None of these quads are large enough or costly enough to cause any real damage. If you wanna go cheap then this is the way to do it. Not with 8lb quads that can cause real damage. I've been having a lot of fun with my X5c1...

1st 500 quad build.. Need HELP!

Hi Ian G. My second build was the same as yours. My first build was a F450 X frame. I built that one with cheap parts because I didn't know any better at the time. What a disaster and expensive replacing all the junk parts I had bought. Save your pennies until you can afford good quality. What I...

    New school "toy"hybrid build

Sorry to hear about the motors but with all the toy quads you have can't you find a set of motors that would work?

Interested in building a heavy lifting quadcopte

Out of curiosity I looked up more info on heli motors. They are not designed for continuous speed changes. More for constant speed or small speed variations. You're ducted fan idea does give good protection and does help efficiency. Worth pursuing.

Interested in building a heavy lifting quadcopte

Ok. I see what you are after now. I thought ducted fan motors were designed to really spin up. Heli motors use gears to swing large, slow rotors. Do you think they would work?

Interested in building a heavy lifting quadcopte

Hahaha! That's a pitiful amount of thrust! You'll need 40 of those to lift the amount that Irishluck has targeted.:p Go back to the KDE motors I linked at the beginning of this thread. 8 of them gave 137kg of thrust.

    Caged quadcopter now on Kickstarter

I didn't know they were for sale yet. I thought it was a work in progress. $299.00 is a really good price. They should be really successful at that price. I expected $400-$500.00!

    Caged quadcopter now on Kickstarter

Huh. That's a well thought out quad. It remains to be seen if it can be produced and sold at a competitive price point while still offering all those features. I like it!

    APM or Pixhawk for Dummies.

I'm glad you started this thread. I am wanting to advance my understanding of the terminology and programming regarding flight control too. I've always been a gear head so I do great with the mechanical end, motors, props, frames etc., but my brain refuses to grasp the programming end. My...

flight controller help....what to choose fpv racer

Another one that gets great reviews is CC3d. On most of the racing videos and build sites I have viewed, the CC3d dominates. Another plus is it costs just a little more than a KK FCB. I have no personal experience with it but there must be a reason it is the darling of the racing crowd. Worth...

    Custom Quad for Sale (rtf)

Seconded! It's nice to see a build done with quality materials. What you built and using the Multi WII controller would be a far better option than a RTF DJI or Yuneec. Well done!

U.S. Will Require Drones to Be Registered

Now you're talking! I will do that tomorrow. A call to arms on the forum getting as many members as possible to call their Rep. should have an impact. Sailorsam has it right; no "drone" reference when calling your congressman. Quad, Multi or toy copter.
