    First Drone for a Newb!?

I would have no problems with that, but the Syma X5C seems to be getting a good reputation for a trainer quad that lets beginners get the feal of a hobby grade quad without the expensive crashes that come with learning. Jackson and Mike have more experience in trainer, and non-hobby grade...

In the US the 400' rule is Advisory unless you are flying commercially. Either way you can pretty much go as high as you want in class G airspace.

Take a look at the Multistar 5200mAh, be sure to verify that you can live with 52 amps constant and 104 amps 10 second burst.

That is one nice build hahahahaha If you can build it within your budget I don't think you'll regret it. I prefer fast mini-quads and even I get a tinge of envy just looking at it :p

Need advice. Motors for tarot 680 pro?

Not sure how far you want to get into this, but you can balance motor hubs and props if needed to help. Vibration is almost always an annoying problem at first.

    CW vs CCW Motor Placement

yes, though if you use nylon lock nuts yo can use all CW threads so that you don't have to search high and low for replacement nuts or worry which is which

    CW vs CCW Motor Placement

Lefty tighty (left hand threads) are made to do CW props and spin CW where as right hand thread or normal thread is meant to be for CCW props. hope that helps.

    Battery Connector placement?

Shortened via zip ties. Not pretty, but I might be putting groves in the arms to hide the wires and then put lauan over the channels, then pretty up the ESCs though this is more of a beater frame so IDK yet.

    Battery Connector placement?

Might just shorten it. Though I made my voltage buzzer able to go under the straps fro the side like mentioned. Considering something like this for the XT60 : . Also I moved my anteana to the other side instead of going back to the rear again like my lat setup. this gets it far...

    Battery Connector placement?

Totaled a frame and I'm rebuilding while addressing my previous problems (screws too close to corners, unnecessary slots that weakened the frame, and some added holes for mounting) one problem I have run into is figuring out where to place my female battery connector. Any ideas? Looking for...

Need advice. Motors for tarot 680 pro?

Really good looking motors. You might want to run your voltage plans and motor/prop combo through a calculator though to make sure you're ESCs will handle the voltage and amperage needed to preform how you want. I suggest a higher voltage combination to increase flight times due to lower amp...

Need advice. Motors for tarot 680 pro?

Depends on your budget, can you add that info in? I'd suggest some low KV motors of a good reputable brand.

    First build, Reusing parts...

A KK2.1.5 is plenty cheap enough as the controller from a mini quad would cost more to make it work with ESCs and it would not be adjustable as the PIDs would need to be adjusted for the very different flight characteristics. There are many cheap transmitters and receivers you could use just...

    Form 500 electronics swap

it should work, if it gets much lighter the PIDs might need very slightly adjusted for optimization. However you should be fine.

    Arduino and Naze32 Quadcopter

in that case this is going to be really "interesting" hahahaha. the receiver should plug in to the CPPM in and you might draw your power from the 5v+ and ground on the ESC's power bus. That is where I'd put it in however you should also be able to use an i2C connection between the FCB...

Are you using a transmitter? Also are you using an actual receiver? Probably need links.
