You should be able to mount them underneath the body. I just liked mine under the props where they would stay cool. Soldering is not bad at all. I would personally just solder longer motor wires in place.

I think you are using the wrong class for your purpose after digging a little deeper. The servo class is for servos, which have a start, stop and the speed in-between. I think you are using the wrong classes(Servo.h) Look for a three phase motor class. (try writing one up if you can't find one)

Sounds like it could be that the esc is not calibrated. Have you calibrated the escs?

Is 1000 supposed to turn the motors off? Have you tried m1.writeMicroseconds(900); m2.writeMicroseconds(900); I have not written any arduino code, but I have thought about it for controlling a slider.

I ground film with the Lumix g7. It is the best bang for the buck in the 4k arena, and with a little work it blends good with my with my x5s. I hear that Canon is about to release a mirrorless in 2018, and may have plans to replace their entire lineup with mirrorless in the future.

It is noticeable, but not too much. I am surprised that the 80d does not shoot in 4k. My wife has the 60d, and it only does 1080 too.
