I had an A2 and it is a very good fc, but have you looked at the n3? I would probably pick it over the A2 these days, and they are a little cheaper. Any good quality radio that has at least 8 channels will work for your requirements. I would recommend the Taranis.

The video quality looks pretty decent. I bet it would be a huge improvement if you can balance the props.

Good choice on the phantom, and these guys are correct in that a cheap quad will teach you how to maneuver the drone so you will know how to fly it once you get the phantom.
