Check your instruction manual. It says to put the quad on a flat, level surface and bind it. Then push both sticks down and to the right and hold. You should get two "beeps" and a red light flash to confirm the gyro has re-calibrated. A lot of quads use this same control sequence to calibrate.

Anyone else flying one of these? I got one super cheap from Banggood after reading a bunch of reviews. For $90, it seemed like a good buy. They have the reputation for burning up motors if you fly them unmodified, so I installed bearings and added some additional ventilation around the motors...

I believe DJI recently discontinued the P3 Advanced and Pro. They still sell the P3 Standard. The remaining stock seems to be going fast, especially of the Pro.

Looks like a pretty standard 3.7V 250mah LiPo with a Losi micro connector. Same battery as a ton of micro quads, and it's readily available on Amazon. It should be the same battery as the very popular Syma X11 and X11C.

The X5's don't like much breeze at all, and any at all will be a problem for your first flights. I'd recommend indoors. For one thing, it will force you to keep your movements small, which is exactly what you want to do. Flying in a confined space will make you learn small, precise movements...

Take a look at the JJRC H8D and the Potensic F183DH. I believe they are the same machine, just branded differently. I just ordered one, but haven't received it yet so I can't recommend either way.

I did a ton of research and ordered a JJRC H8D. Based on what I'm reading and seeing, I plan on doing some immediate modifications (antenna, motor cooling, bearings). You can also get 650mah and 720mah batteries quickly and cheaply on Amazon.com. I use 720mah ones in my X5SW and they fit with lots of room to spare, so I'm guessing I could use larger capacity ones than that.
