Prob. dumb cam. ? Help plz

 ... Make and model of camera ? Make and model of JJRC ? Type of video transmitter ? You can't just pop in a camera without having a transmitter to send the video with, is that part of the main board in the quad, built into the camera, or a separate unit? If you'll provide...

    Firmware

Firmware is different from software in that it's more permanent and is stored in the ROM not the RAM. (read only memory vs random access memory) .... Helpful ? o_O .... LMAO ... Didn't think so ... :p A better (and less technical) way to think of it is that firmware is like it's operating...

    Thumbs, Pinch, or Hybrid?

I used to "Pinch" the sticks on my old huge Futaba but then later transitioned to thumbs. I didn't like the spikes on my Taranis so I got these monster cups (from where I forget) which also shorten the sticks and makes it more sensitive and waaaaaay more comfortable too. :)

Getting your quad out of tall trees the easy way

 ... Yep, same concept but just with a different launching mechanism ... Sure beats climbing trees (even when feasible) and, in cases where you simply cannot climb up to get it, it's about the only thing you really CAN do to retrieve it. :)

Getting your quad out of tall trees the easy way

 ... In all honesty I can't claim credit for the idea, it came from a member of another forum I'm in, but I did "take up up a notch or two" ... lol ...

    Resurrecting A Totaled Elev-8 Quadcopter

 ... Don't forget to allow some length for a slight "service loop". You'll want to be able to access or move some things without the need of unplugging them. ;)

Getting your quad out of tall trees the easy way

I've made an incredibly useful tool for Quad retrieval. :D It's an aluminum walking cane (even just a short section of broomstick would do) with a "Wrist Rocket" slingshot for the handle and an open face reel (a.k.a. Spinning Reel) mounted to it. I tied a small sinker to the end of the line...

Another newbie but with a twist

I always mod my "toy" radios and quads :D Put "Honest to God" antennas on my X101's radio and quad which almost tripled the range ! It was originally just a small piece of wire hot glued in the bottom of the radio (the stock "antenna" was just an empty protrusion for looks !) and another snip...

    Global drone x183

Yep, it's either that or it also sounds to me like it could be in the "follow me" mode ... dunno how to switch modes on that quad, consult your manual

Another newbie but with a twist

That's true, but at some point you'll be wanting a "real" radio anyway ... lol ... btw, with some mods you can still fly your "toys" with the better radio. My radio of choice is the FrSky Taranis X9D Plus. It's one the best radios out there and it's also fun to play with by it's self too. I've...

    Lookout!

 ... I've lived in Tulsa and Breckenridge Oklahoma before ... To help with "muscle memory" AND developing skills, as well as disorientation, I suggest a good simulator that uses your radio as the controller. Both "FPV Freerider" (not bad) and "Liftoff" (much better) are excellent ways...

    New flyer here

No, for several reasons: On site you're working and ONLY working. Plus you don't want to ruin your hourly income average by adding time on to any jobs (which affects your offsite earnings). Also, it's against the rules. Adding to any ETA though is entirely permissible (stopping to gas up, doing...

Ready to build my first one!!!

The brands to steer towards or avoid depend upon the item(s) being evaluated. The cheapest way is with Chinese clones, but quality control is often "hit or miss" and there's also the (literally) "slow boat from China" consideration too. If you REALLY want to stay "top of the line" though (imho...

    New flyer here

I'm a Sat Installer Tech too (AT&T) ... Don't fly at any CX's house by any means, but there's nothing that says if you happen to pass an enticing place to fly that you can't "stretch" your ETA a little bit to get some flight time in. ;)

    esc current sensing setup

o_O ... I just watched the other blue falcon video too https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=47&v=al4G6XJPD9c on the 4in1 ESC wiring and it seems dirt simple ... lol ... The CRNT pin on the ESC gets connected to the same designation of the FCB and voila, done (the motors wiring not so...
