    200$ budget for Amazon purchase

Yep, if the cam is hanging down from underneath it (especially if mounted on a gimbal), it's a "camera platform". If the cam is tucked inside the nose with just the lens barely peaking out and is angled looking UP (at roughly 45 degrees) it's a "racer". ;)

Fun with cats...............and quads..................(I'm going to hell for this one)

I've had many cats AND many dogs (as well as other assorted mammals, reptiles, and amphibians) and personally think that dogs rule. Cats have waaaay too much attitude and if I'm going to be living with anything that so much thinks it's "all that" it better help with paying some bills. It kinda...

    Learning to Fly

Yep, except UP is Down and Down is UP ! ... Buried a few Evo 60 motors trying to remember that ... lol ... Yes Gene, for 3D quads the throttle stick's idle is at center and instead of pulling down on the stick reducing speed it spins the motors in reverse :D

You're very welcome :) Now get out there and wear out some battery packs, bust some props, and have a blast :p

    Learning to Fly

Flying LOS (line of sight) vs FPV (first person view) are pretty much two different worlds (but they need not really be with this trick). Coming from an RC airplanes background I've instinctually adapted (through years of practice) to handle the situational awareness aspects of not only the...

    Help Needed

 ..... Yep, what Moz says ... WiFi has terrible range AND terrible latency (takes too long of a time between what's going on in the "real world" and what you're seeing in the picture). Fly more than a short distance away and you're blind. Fly too fast and you hit something before you...

    Hello

Welcome aboard :) The first thing to consider is what kind of flying you are wanting to get into, generally speaking there's the "High and Slow" type (camera platforms) and the "Low and Fast" type (FPV Racing). Personally I'm into going as fast as I can, relatively close to the ground and...

Beginner drone suggestions (LiDiRC L15FW,Syma XH5C)

You just throttle full up then back down. Here's a video that is helpful (fast forward to about 7:08 for just the pairing part).

Beginner drone suggestions (LiDiRC L15FW,Syma XH5C)

The "Return to Home" feature may be useful for when a novice pilot gets disoriented and is unsure of how to control the quad to keep it in range or if it cannot be clearly seen, but it does NOT prevent it from getting lost or flying too far away, meaning if you fly it too far away (out of range)...

    Syma X5C gear issue

You're very welcome :) No, these things usually last longer but anything can happen. Whatever caused the initial problem which required the replacements may have also damaged the drive circuitry to that motor. When these motors are at a forced stop (obstruction of the prop or damage to drive...

    Syma X5C gear issue

I would check these things in this order: Make sure the prop isn't slipping on the shaft by holding the gears and (not too forcefully) pushing laterally on the prop. Manually spin the suspect motor by the prop and compare it's "feel" to the others (similar cogging effect or not and/or any...

Can you be a bit more specific ?

I have a few questions about motor cables

"Bullet connectors ? We dun need no stinkin bullet connectors !" ... (Treasure of the Sierra Madre) :p If you're going to hafta solder, and you will, then (imho) just go straight wire to wire (or pad) for the most solid connection and with less weight. I don't ever even bother with connectors on...

Need VR Goggles for glass wearers

 ... Just a thought, but if you have RSSI from any of your quads you could fine tune using that. There's nothing that says any (normally) receiving antenna can't also be used for transmitting too. As the those helis get tweaked towards optimum the Quad RX's signal strength will go...

Need VR Goggles for glass wearers

Remember, just because you wear glasses does not mean you are necessarily relegated to only using a "box style" headsets. The "Fat Shark" types (as Moz puts it) do have diopter lenses that can be inserted to correct vision, but they are also made for 5.8 GHz. Since your quad is wi-fi based the...
