    Batteries for Sky Viper

Here's a charger that will work. Will a 1200mAh battery fit? Most of the ones I find in an Amazon search for that model are 850mah. https://www.amazon.com/Tenergy-Battery-Charger-Quadcopter-Batteries/dp/B00XWSRSU2/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1530395059&sr=8-13&keywords=1s+lipo+charger+jst

    Batteries for Sky Viper

It looks like those are very standard JST connectors. If they look like the ones Jackson posted links to, there are both standalone chargers and, if you have a real charger (like an IMAX), many charging boards on the market. A lot of the cheaper standalone ones have micro-losi connectors but...

    Rookie Mistakes

You never did say whatever happened to the Sharper Image DX-2. My entry into the hobby was just about as low-end. I wasn't even looking to buy one but my local Radio Shack was having a going-out-of-business sale, and the "Dominator 2" was on sale for $40. I learned to fly it indoors and...

Blade mQX RTF Crash need new parts

Fortunately parts are still around for the MQX and 180 QX. (I have a couple of the 180 QX and they're excellent.) The parts you need are here. The MQX and the 180 QX use the exact same frame. You can also find parts on eBay. I went through a lot of spare parts myself when I started...

Syma X8 upgrades to brushless motors.

I really don't see the point in this. I have an X8C myself, and I like it very much. But why try to make it something it's not? It's basically a toy quad - a giant Syma X5-C1. Like Jackson said, for the same or even less money, you can buy a Bugs 3 and it will fly way better.

Syma X8 upgrades to brushless motors.

I agree that just buying a Bugs 3 is a MUCH better choice. However, as to your link -

    FPV setup help needed

Yes - what Jackson said. When you're looking at FPV systems, make sure it says "5.8g" somewhere in the description. That's designed to actually fly with, using goggles. Anything labeled "Wifi" is too slow to fly FPV.

    FPV setup help needed

You aren't going to be able to fly it FPV, through WiFi. Too much lag. The videos you see of people flying FPV are a different system and operates at 5.8g. With Wifi and a phone, you'll hit the tree before you even see it in the goggles.

How do you like to fly?

I like it very much, thanks.

    Am I Missing Something?

Agree. I've been frequenting these forums for a while and see how much trouble people have. I've also watched a lot of build videos and read countless articles. As an old tech with all the tools, materials, and know-how, I'm sure I could do a "scratch" build. But I don't want to...

Home Built or Pre-Built? What are The Key Advantages?

There is now the Mavic Pro Platinum with some enhancements. The Mavic Pro II is supposedly coming, so the prices on the current models will come down. When the Platinum hits $800, I'm there.

Home Built or Pre-Built? What are The Key Advantages?

Based on your interest in (presumably) high-quality aerial video, DIY is not the way to go. Just buy a Mavic Air Pro and be done with it. It checks all your boxes and then some. Or wait for the Autel Robotics EVO.

    New To Drones

You're going to get all sort of advice. Here's mine. Buy yourself an inexpensive toy-grade quadcopter like a Syma X5C-1 and learn to fly it. It's fully manual and you'll develop the skills to fly. It's definitely something that takes practice and you "learn by crashing". You may want...

Anyone Failing To Register Their Quadcopter With The FAA.....

Here's a link to the FAQ on drone registration: http://federaldroneregistration.com/faq/ Q25. If I own multiple drones, do I have to register them all? A. No. You may register once and apply the same registration number to all your UAS.

SkyRC imax B6AC v2 and a Battery Question

You really, really don't know what you're talking about. Multiple cells receiving a parallel charge will always end up with the same voltage. They're in parallel. It's series batteries that have the potential to vary. Are you even thinking about this? You definitely don't seem to...

SkyRC imax B6AC v2 and a Battery Question

The IMAX will show a "Battery Connect" error if you have Balance Charge selected but it only sees the first cells. This doesn't even make sense so I think there was some miscommunication with the rep. I think you're taking the idea of "Balance charging" in a direction that doesn't really...

SkyRC imax B6AC v2 and a Battery Question

I think you're misunderstanding the use of the word "balance" when it comes to the charger. It refers to the final charge on all cells. In a 2s battery, the two cells are "balanced" so as to have an identical charge on each one. If your final charge on a 2s battery is 8.2V, the charger...

SkyRC imax B6AC v2 and a Battery Question

If you are referring to the Precision RC charging board referenced above, it DOES come with balance plugs and cables for both 2s and 3s. It's not hard to understand how this charger accomplishes balancing cells across multiple batteries. They're in parallel so all cells in each parallel bank...
