    Quad Transmitter Question

Eneloop Pro is the best option for transmitters, hands down. You don't need to screw around modding your transmitter to work with any other battery types. Invest in a good charger and a set of Eneloop Pros, and never look back.

    Ordered a bugs 3

The FPV port inside the Bugs 3 provides a regulated 5V so if your camera/VTX will run off that, no need to tap into the battery connectors. Just wire up a 1.25mm JST connector and plug it in.

SkyRC imax B6AC v2 and a Battery Question

Did your Imax come with a cable that's compatible with that type of connector? I don't remember, but I don't think mine did. I don't have any batteries with that connector so I'd have to check if I got one with the charger. If yours did, you don't need to buy one.

SkyRC imax B6AC v2 and a Battery Question

That board handles micro Losi and JST connectors only. You'd need an adapter for a H501s battery, which (I think) is called EC2 banana plug. Something like this will let you charge your H501s batteries with the Imax, one at a time. That's a lot faster than the one that came with your quad...

SkyRC imax B6AC v2 and a Battery Question

This is a much better solution. In addition to micro Losi connectors, it also handles batteries with the red JST connectors, and you can mix and match and charge them at the same time. It's very well constructed and the connectors are high quality...

Beginner drone suggestions (LiDiRC L15FW,Syma XH5C)

I vote for the plain-vanilla X5C-1. It has no features, which is what you want while learning. Instead of Headless mode you need to learn orientation, and instead of altitude-hold you'll learn proper control on your own. It's also tough as nails. There's a reason it's so popular. You...

    Ordered a bugs 3

Rick, I trust you on this but somewhere I got the impression that the video quality of the C5830 was supposed to be a bit better. If that's not true and they are the same, why in the world would anyone go to the trouble of cutting their Bugs 3 to make it fit, instead of just buying the drop-in...

    Ordered a bugs 3

I just ordered one myself this week and according to Fedex, I'll have it Saturday. I ordered from Tomtop because I wanted a red one, and they had it for $86.99 shipped from their US warehouse. Both the C5820 and C5830 are FPV cameras. The C5830 is a better camera but requires you to modify...

Getting your quad out of tall trees the easy way

I've been using this. You just set the reel on the ground next to you and shoot the sinker. Started out as a way to put up longwire shortwave antennas but it works just fine for getting quads out of trees.

    Syma X5C gear issue

Rick, I saw one person report that those props make the X5C-1 prone to wobble or instability. What has been your experience? In stock form the X5C-1 seems almost immune to wobble of any kind.

    Syma X5C gear issue

Or from Amazon (they'll arrive quicker). This would give you spare motors too, which you'll eventually need. https://www.amazon.com/XiaoPengYo-X5SC-1-X5SW-1-Mounting-Screws/dp/B073Q86HSB/ref=sr_1_19?ie=UTF8&qid=1514742825&sr=8-19&keywords=syma+x5c-1+parts...

Do they not mesh vertically, or horizontally? Is it more like this _- or like this _ _?

    Wltoys v686k remote control problem

If you got your transmitter joystick unstuck and it's working now, the V686 is a fine quadcopter for flying around the yard and having fun with. You might want something more advanced later, but for now what you have is perfect. Learn to fly it well before you invest in anything more advanced.

    Wltoys v686k remote control problem

Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but do you mean Spektrum? WLToys quadcopters are not DSM2/X compatible and won't work with Spektrum transmitters.

    Newbie question about batteries

In theory yes, but in practice it's more complicated than that. The additional weight of the bigger battery will eat into your flight time so you may not see much increase, if any. There's a point of diminishing returns. And you're talking about a battery that is THREE TIMES as large, so...

    Syma x5c-1 Removing Stabilization?

I fly my X5C-1 with an X8C transmitter and it controlled the camera just fine. You can buy an X8C transmitter for under $20 and you get much better range than the stock transmitter. I say "controlled the camera" in the past tense because that was just when I first got it. I've removed...

    Syma x5c-1 Removing Stabilization?

If your goal is to have an inexpensive toy-grade quad to practice acro, just buy a Dromida Ominus or a Traxxas Alias. There's also the Blade 180 QX (my favorite) which is discontinued but can be found on eBay for around $50, or the new Blade Zeyrok. I'm sure I'm forgetting a few, but there...

    Syma X8Pro?

There are a few early reviews on YouTube, and reports on the X8 Pro are not good.

    Hello Everybody

Less weight, less wind resistance, and the quad doesn't get caught in tree branches as easily. Most of us call prop guards "tree hangers" and that's pretty accurate. I'm assuming you're only flying it outdoors.

    Hello Everybody

Then your next step definitely should be something with acro. Doing flips and rolls with the Syma might be fun at first, but really you're just pushing a button and the quad is doing a pre-programmed flip. Get something with acro and then you've got complete, manual maneuverability in your...
