New racer build ideas

Hi guys, looking for some opinions. So I have two Eachine racer 250s that Ive been learning to fly. Ive been breaking arms on them learning acro and flying through trees (3 this week!). One of my 250s is pretty jacked up. the lower board is bypassed, so all my power is basically solder globs for lights and vtx with a power filter etc... Anyway I was considering a transfer of the components to a different frame. First of all, is this a dumb Idea?

Im thinking of going to a smaller frame 220 size and hoping for more speed with the racer 250 components.
Frame choices are:
DAL 220- http://www.banggood.com/DALRC-DL220...-Mini-Violent-FPV-Racing-Frame-p-1015829.html

qAV R 220- https://www.electricwingman.com/lumenier-qav-r-fpv-racing-quadcopter-frame-5

Or a 210 size, ZMR x210 - http://www.fpvmodel.com/zmr-x210-21...uadcopter-frame-kit-with-pcb-board_g1130.html

Or I could go with a new build, but I thought I could use some stuff from my racer 250 and save some money since I have 2 of them.

Ideas or opinions welcome.

Well the tubular arms will be harder to break, but that just moves the point of failure to the frame which would be a lot harder to replace. As for those other frames I believe that the arms won't be much harder to break, but would be easy to replace if you did break them.

You might just make a field reparable kit that would allow you to get a lot more flight time in, because 10 batteries probably takes you a couple hours to fly through hahaha.

3 or 4 mil flat carbon fiber won't be stronger then the junky eachine racer arms? They always break on the corners. I could make a field kit. I have a butane soldering wand and they are not that hard to replace. Im just thinking they break too easy.

My field kit was to just pull out another quad to fly, but one session I broke an arm on each quad and didnt even get through all my batteries. Ive broke 5 arms so far and maybe one prop since I discovered DALs.

I tried electrical tape around he arms. I'll see if that makes a difference.

Still like those quad frames though. ;)

Also like the vortex 250 and the tbs vendetta. My wife is gonna hate my new hobby. Ha ha!

My beginning noob builder list-

Voodoo 250 http://www.bigsquidrc.com/voodoo-quads-vdq-250-fpv-quadcopter/

Emax motors http://www.emaxmodel.com/brushless-motor/emax-rs2205-racespec-motor.html

Littlebee escs http://www.voodooquads.com/little-bee-20amp-esc/

I think I need some kind of power distribution board.

Also need to know if I can run my 3c 150omah batteries with this setup. Or do those motors pull too much so id need to go bigger?

Im somewhat familiar with the cc3d board but do you guys have other ideas? Please offer opinions.

Oooooh, that Voodoo frame is sweeeeeet. So are the red-bottoms. Are the batteries a typo? (3C) I use 1500 mah 35C for my 250 and I've got tons of power and 12-14 minutes runtime with just 12A ESC's so you should be just fine. As for the board, the CC#D is OK but the AbuseMark full Naze 32 will give you more options.

Yes that is a typo or brain fart. 3S (3 cell). Here is what I've been collecting for my racer 250s: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/...500mah_3S_35_70C_Lipo_Pack_AR_Warehouse_.html
hoping they would work for future builds/quads.

Tell me more.... I've heard/read about Revo5 Revo6 Naze 32, CC3D revolution, Matek something or other, but I don't understand the difference of these "options" I can get because I'm not there yet with the knowledge or understanding of what I might want for options in the future... if that makes sense.

Time to read up! Some of the "options" are in the software you select and some are in the FCB. ex, full Naze has baro and gps capabilities

I have to subscribe to some of these guys. I search all over for info, but lots of guys are just making videos and they don't provide the info I need, but I have to sit through the video to find that out. :)

This guy is pretty good. Thanks!
RCReviews.com Oscar guy is real good to.
Thanks for the continued links, Jackson. At some point I might piece all this info together.

I know... If I just had a crystal ball to tell me what I will want in the future. ;)
Openpilot
Librepilot
Cleanflight
Betaflight
Boris... something.
and more....that I can't remember at the moment.

Makes my head spin.
