Help with range upgrade issues

Hello all,

Hoping to get some help and/or suggestions with antenna upgrades.
Purchased a Hubsan X4 H501s, and wasn't happy with the range I was getting (FPV and control cut out around 100-150 meters).

Bought these and installed:

FPV 5.8 ghz

Test after installation, found FPV range to be WORSE. Video is scratchy any more than 50 meters away, and gone at 150. Not sure how control range is, as I don't want to fly too far without the safety blanket of FPV.

Did a rebinding of quad to TX after upgrade, and compass calibration is required before each flight after battery disconnect.

Hoping someone can shed some light on what steps I may be able to take to rectify the poor range issues I'm having.

Doesn't surprise me, 150 metres isn't bad until you get into hobby grade quads

Hmm.. Interesting. After quite a bit of research I've seen multiple people reaching well over 1,000 meters

Looks like I'm back to the drawing board and in search of a different antenna.
